I once visited the premises of the Graphic Communications Group Ltd to make inquiries about their advertisement/announcement packages. And at the end of my inquiries, one thing was made very clear to me thus the front-page of the Daily Graphic was only meant for adverts of companies, government agencies and issues of national interest. This meant that no individual would be given the chance to advertise on its front-page regardless of how much one was willing to pay or how important that advert was to the person.
Indeed this is a very good principle and I think it is a good one. Therefore if this is the case and that principle still stand then I would like to know why and how one “Anthony Kwame Haick” was given the chance to wish Prophet T.B. Joshua a Happy New Year on the front-page of the Daily Graphic dated Monday, January 11, 2010. Hence I talked to someone at the office of Daily Graphic just before writing this piece and I was still made to understand that the principle of not allowing individuals to advertise on their front-page still stand. So you see, am I being misinformed here or someone did not do his or her job right? However, if I am being misinformed then I would like the Editor of the Graphic to give me just one edition [i.e. the date of the edition] when an individual was given the chance to advertise on the front-page of the Daily Graphic.
Or is it what I am thinking thus the name T.B. Joshua was so powerful to blindfold some people to an extent that they forgot about their professional code of conduct? Or is T.B. Joshua now of national interest to the development of this nation? Or was a directive issued from the most “powerful” man [i.e. Order from above] in Ghana to back this advert? Anyway, if the principle has changed then I would be more than glad to know because my son’s birthday is just around the corner and I would be more than glad to wish my son a happy birthday on the front-page of the Daily Graphic regardless of the cost involved. If not then those in charge of the Daily Graphic should bow their head in any pool of shame they find near them and must also be humble enough to apologize to Ghanaians as soon as possible.
