Then for Ghana to minimize the high rate of sexual
proximity, we must intensify education on how to avoid the acts of fornication
among our youth. Every religion has moral values that could be used for
enforcing the life of Chastity. The principle of decent dressing could also be
used for promoting Chastity because the kind of dressing our youth portray
these days is a threat to people who have decided to practice Chastity either
on religious or personal principles. We should not forget that there is a
saying that” Men are attracted by sight but women are attracted by touch’’. It
means that majority of men who are said to be rapists are being empowered by
the kind of dresses our ladies put up.
There is no doubt that practicing Chastity is easy
yet it has a LOT OF BENEFITS on both the Society and the individual which we
have closed our eyes on them. A large portion of Ghanaians thought that only
money and certificate make one be socially acceptable and respected which is
not true. The typical Ghanaian society does respect people who preserve their
sexual feeling before getting marriage. The fact is that many academicians and
millionaires don’t have respect in the society because of their sexual
weakness.
One way for Ghana to reduce her problem of teenage
pregnancy is to encourage the teens to practice Chastity because under Chastity,
no sexual activity is encouraged. When Chastity is practiced among our youth
the nation could save billions of cedis from her importation expenditure. The money
Ghana uses for importing condoms,
both antenatal and postnatal drugs to be used on teenage mothers could be used
for equal important activity. When Chastity is been practiced by our youth it
will go a long way of preventing the youth from being infected with sexually
transmitted disease and also reduce premature fathers in the country.
Research has
proved that people who stay away from sex can learn to the highest level they
wish to reach. I t means that when you are motivated to live a chaste life the
nation’s standard of education will be improved. These days most student’s fail
in examination because of the divided mind they experience when studying. A
student will be in a classroom thinking that he/she is concentrating on his/her
lesson, his/her mind will be out of the class rooms, reflecting on where to
meet his/her sexual friend in the night and the way to satisfy themselves. We
always hear in our daily news either on radio or television that youth are to
put up good morals, yet immorality is at increase. Things like, rape, fornication,
adultery, smoking, stealing,
bullying, gambling, robbing, insects and corruption are some of immoral acts we
hear off in our news.
However, such acts have not received much reduction.
Reason being that the negative effects of such life styles have not been unearthed.
The most interesting thing is that what chastity helps to avoid are what
immorality praised. What worried most is that if one sets in fire such person
will be put before law court but those whose act promote immorality in the
country, such as profane musicians and pastors who preach about wealth are not
put before any law court for destroying the morality of the Country. Pastors
who propagate wealth instead of the gospel should be put before court because
their preaching motivates others to praise immoral life's to earn wealth.
