However most girls want to live to please their peers or they try to compete with their peers so they find themselves in relationships with married men for the financial support that could project them into the competition with their peers while belittling what their parents could provide.
Ask why the boys from the same homes as the girls not dropping out despite having no extra source of support??

sexist, depraved, and idiotic article. Being a greedy side chick is just a way for some to have extra money and be comfortable. Most women make it without being side chicks. Most of these side chicks were ALREADY in school before these men came along, so what makes anyone stupidly believe these women would have quit school without a sugar daddy. These women got to these schools the same way their male counterparts got there, through their academic achievement, family support, and self-employment. How come the same thing cannot be said about boys since they face the same challenges? (SEXISM)? If anything, these sugar daddies are distractively impeding on the quality of EDUCATION OF these Women for their personal EXPLOITATION.

This so true that most of the girls at the various universities have to do ashawo with multiple men just to survive. I've met so many of them. It used to be a necessity but not it's just part of life to manage multiple men (both at home those abroad) for financial gain.

The future for these women isn't so bright as they'd continue with their ashawo for life with multiple partners.

it's a choice they consciously make. it's not b'cos their parents can't take care of them but it's due to laziness and trying to live above their standards. The other issue too is that of parental upbringing when parents tell their male counterparts to take up their mantle early in life and face while telling their telling their female children that one day surely they will mary and men will take care of them. so right from onset, boys try to be reponsible for their choices in life while the girls sit back. but they rather discover late in life that, that advise is old fashion.

This voodoo research article and its claims about female students and married men reminds me of those who blindly support the practice of polygamy by falsely claiming that ending polygamy would result in an increase in prostitution. If married men in Africa remained faithful to their spouses, all that will happen is that the female students they engage with will only have to do without the funds that they get to support their shopping habits, but there will be no drop outs just because these men are now faithful to their spouses.
