Ken Ohene Agyapong’s strength is in the little things. Paying attention to everything—even signing—shows leadership, discipline, and respect for detail. A man who minds the small signs will never miss the bigger picture. That kind of attentiveness builds trust and proves he carries the people in his heart.

Today, Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, the five New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential contestants were invited to sign a Peace Pact, consistent with the customs, traditions, and established practices of the Party.

When the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was presented, Ken Ohene Agyapong did not rush to append his signature. Instead, he took time to carefully examine the document—an act rooted not in defiance, but in responsibility.

A key clause of the MOU required all contestants to unconditionally accept the outcome of the January 31, 2026, contest, regardless of the circumstances (irrespective of the results).

However, the document was conspicuously silent on a critical safeguard: that where irregularities or procedural abnormalities are detected, the results from the affected polling centres should be nullified.

The provision that states that the Electoral Commission must annul results of voting centers that refuse to do open space counting of ballots. This provision was proposed and accepted by all the candidates and the Electoral Commissioner.

This provision was however omitted in the document submitted to Ken Ohene Agyapong. But the Chairman of the Presidential Election committee later apologized and gave an assurance that the correction will be done.

Given that this commitment was intended to be binding not merely for the primaries, but through to the 2028 general elections, Ken insisted that every term and condition be precise, unambiguous, and internally consistent. Leadership of vision demands diligence; it does not permit blind endorsement.

This measured approach reflects the mark of a thoughtful and principled leader: one who understands that signatures carry consequences, and that clarity today prevents conflict tomorrow. Ken Ohene Agyapong’s insistence on plain, intelligible language was driven by a singular objective: to protect the integrity of the process and the values of the NPP.

Ken’s actions reaffirm his deep belief in the party’s principles, his respect for due process, and his unwavering commitment to fairness, transparency, and institutional credibility.
