Kumawu Palace near Burglarized; Who could be the Thieves?

Sun, 6 Feb 2011 Source: Fosu, John

It was announced on Peace Fm radio and published on Ghanaweb on Thursday, 3rd

February 2011, that there has been an incident of attempted robbery at the Kumawu

palace a fortnight ago. The person who revealed the incident to the public is the

sitting Kumawu Krontihene a.k.a "Tikenenkene" who doubles as the Acting President of

the Kumawu Traditional Council.

From my quick investigations, neither the Palace (Ahenfie) boys, nor the sub-chiefs

were aware of the announced attempted robbery. They are themselves astonished to

hear about the robbery on the airwaves or read about it from the electronic media.

They are yet to convene a meeting on this issue where the Kontrihene will be obliged

to tell them exactly what happened, when, how and why.

Why could the Krontihene not tell his other sub-chiefs who are also members of the

Kumawu Traditional Council prior to revealing the incident to the media? Why could

he not summon his elders to an emergency meeting to discuss the incident or take

them to the crime scene? The answer is not far fetched. The Kontrihene has always

been of dubious character; a man with insatiable quest for riches regardless how his

dreams are realised. Should there have been any actual attempted robbery as alleged;

the Kontrihene is to be held a suspect. The way he has kept the matter secret only

to get it broadcast on air raises suspicion. He wants the entire nation to bear him

witness that were there to be shortages in the Palace properties at the impending

inventory; he will not be held the culprit. He is playing smart but John Fosu, the

defender of the poor, the sympathiser of the needy, and the vessel of God is smarter

than him. He should note that President Abraham Lincoln once said "you can fool some

of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you

cannot fool all of the people all of the time". Kontrihene is only fooling himself.

By the weird announcement without any resort to protocol, the Kontrihene has given

himself away as the likely suspect should there be attempted robbery or actual

robbery.

Kontrihene by the announcement is trying to be clever; he is seeking what may be a

false alibi in the event of the pending inventory not tallying with the list handed

to Barimah Asumadu Sakyi II when he took over from Barimah Otuo Acheampong. The

secret is, he has condoned and connived with Kumawuhemaa to pilfer and plunder the

wealth of Kumawuman. The day of reckoning is fast approaching with the noose closing

in upon the neck of Kontrihene and the Ohemaa hence this attempted silly ploy to

exonerate them of the thievery they have visited upon Kumawuman.

Otuo, the Head of the Ahenfie boys is not aware of any robbery attempt at the palace

since the beginning of the year. Until when will the Kumawu chieftaincy case remain

in limbo, enabling Kumawuhemaa and the Kontrihene to continue to ravage Kumawuman?

The burden is now upon Otuo and his Ahenfie boys to ensure nothing goes missing or

else, they will be held responsible. They are to be extra vigilant. They can search

Kontrihene, the Ohemaa and anyone when they are leaving the palace if they (Otuo and

Co.), become immediately apprehensive.
