Nduom suffers first defeat in CPP and...

Sun, 18 Sep 2011 Source: Kweku Dadzie

* awaits a second in Court* Nduom’s defeat in the just ended CPP delegate’s congress was predicted in my article ‘*SAMIA rebuilds the CPP…as NDUOM continues to destroy Nkrumaism’*dated 15 th August 2011*. *The article which has generated massive international debate asserted that Nduom is a mole pretending to be an Nkrumaist whose action in the CPP is only aimed at destroying it.

Embarrassingly, rather than Nduom concentrating on enjoying his loot during his service in the Kuffour government and understanding that the current Samia led CPP has no room for CIA in-plant, he has taken the extra ordinary step of using the court processes to gag progressive forces who are prepared to expose him for who he is.

On the 23rd of August 2011, Dr. Nduom filed a suit in the High court to demand among other things a retraction that:

· ‘he collected back his filing fee of 20 million cedis from the party, having known that he would lose the party’s flag bearer ship against Prof George Hagar in 2000’

· He is ‘a pretentious political trick of a wolf in sheep’s clothing and parading as an Nkrumaist, yet principally worshiping ‘political thievery’ in Ghana for Western imperialism’.

I stand by the above position and insist that those are just a tip of the iceberg.

The victory of Samia Yaba Nkrumah against Nduom’s Nylander is the first victory of the CPP to clear its ranks of surrogates. The second will be when we mobilize in our thousands to the court hearings to prove to Nduom that the CPP truly has no space for political traitors, imperialist, and western stooges whose assignment is to supervise the destruction of the CPP.

*SAMIA rebuilds the CPP…as NDUOM continues to destroy Nkrumaism*

One thing interesting about the CPP today is that its intra-politics is measured accordingly by two levels of competing forces, the progressives led by Samia Yaba Nkrumah and the reactionary elements led by Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom. Samia, who hardly trumpets her biological relations with the founder of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, has been the most formidable individual in recent past to break the pseudo-reactionary myth which holds that the CPP cannot triumph without the NPP and NDC. She won the JOMORO seat in 2008 after contesting NDC incumbent and ruling NPP candidates. With Samia’s emergence in deep CPP intra-politics, many of the progressives who had no hope under the current national party leadership have been rekindled for action in order to make it a formidable force in Ghanaian politics. She serves as a center of attraction for many Nkrumaists sitting on the fence either with other political parties or inactive. She presents a strong message which is appealing to the youth and women of this country.

On January 15th this year, I read a statement which was apparently posted on myjoyonline.com and also saw it posted on a friend’s (abumuk3) web blog. The statement was in effect made on January 8, 2011. She was speaking to both PNC and CPP members in the Brong Ahafo region as part of her efforts to unite the two major Nkrumaist groups in Ghana. Even though the significant theme I captured in her speech was Nkrumaist Unity or Perish, I would like to refer to a portion of her statement which was in fact a quote from Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s AFRICA MUST UNITE, ….*“Looking back, and trying to determine the reasons for the successful outcome of our struggle for freedom, one factor stands out above all others, namely, the strength of a well-organized political party, representative of the broad mass of the people…”*. After reflecting on this part of her statement I became exceedingly amazed about Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom launch for another campaign to become the party’s flagbearer for 2012. How does one’s selfish desire of flag bearer leads to the building of a well-organised political party which is representative of the broad mass of the people? A comrade called me and said this man is probably unscientific in politics. Perhaps he may be good in making profits but has failed to appreciate what the CPP seeks to achieve and build in Ghana. He is ill-concerned about the party’s rebuilding; totally ignorant or deliberately pretending to realize how Nkrumah (Post 1966) provided the most scientific process for our de-neo-colonization. Then, my comrade said ‘he thinks he can be smarter than Ghanaians’. Why would Nduom not for once concentrates his wealth that he usually uses for only printing his political t-shirts; sponsoring Ladi and co; and supplying Fried rice to some party members, to build the party’s polling station structures, establishing constituency offices, strengthening the youth and women’s wing, ensuring an effective ideological education programme and others.

From the beginning, Nduom’s interest in the party has been clear. I recollect he collected back his filing fee of 20 million cedis from the party, having known that he would lose the party’s flag bearer ship against Prof George Hagar in 2000. Nduom, Kojo Armah and Freddie Blay sabotaged Prof. Delle’s chairmanship from 2004 to 2007. Nduom led this group to disgrace and embarrass our party in the media to the extent that the public labeled our party ‘CNPP’. He attempted forming his own political party by overthrowing the existing CPP structures. He was going to name this party Movement for Social Justice (MSJ). MSJ membership cards were printed and distributed across the country. Even when the Central Committee, recently, resolved for the unconditional banning of MSJ from CPP functions and the national chairman was instructed by the Committee to issue a public statement to that effect, surprisingly, Ladi Nylander (outgoing national chairman) failed to do so. Why because deep throats revealed Nduom had warned him via telephone. The political character of Nduom is a reduction and a deviation of Nkrumaist principles to little political techniques. His actions sharply contradict Nkrumah’s ideological roadmap for building a credible political party for the masses. Certainly, such a political character is not capable of capturing power from neo-colonial political instruments such as the NDC and NPP. He cannot provide a revolutionary forward march to the defeat of imperialism in Africa. To win political power is not an end in itself but a means to other things. Why would one wish to become a presidential flag bearer of a political party when he shows no interest in providing constituency offices for the party members? At least it has been established (by the same pollsters who convinced Ladi Nylander that CPP will win 15% of national presidential votes in 2012) that the party has no offices in virtually 126 constituencies, far less than 2/3 of what the EC recommends . Of course, offices alone do not capture power but for any serious-minded person interested in running for the Office of the President and who wouldn’t mind spending millions of US dollars on campaigning yet doesn’t have administrative offices for effective political organisation, then it tells me such a person is first joke in town.

If we believe in Nkrumah and his political philosophy then certainly one interesting weapon is the *“Handbook of Revolutionary Warfare”* by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, which presents a complete new progressive approach for the fruitful completion of the armed phase of the struggle against imperialist control of our national and continental economies.

Nkrumah points to the fact that a number of external factors affect the African condition and if our liberation struggle is to be placed in a correct perspective then we must know who or what the ENEMY entails. The impact of political manipulation by the US Government and their local financial surrogates especially in the CPP must be fully grasped. First among them is the source of capital accumulation that gave birth to Coconut Groove Regency Hotel, for it is mainly against exploitation and poverty that our people’s revolt. If Nkrumaism is about ensuring that the oppressed and less privileged capture political power from the exploitative ruling elites and bank owners, and using such power to form a new state which will run policies and programmes for drastically reducing poverty; for providing equity in social infrastructure; and for consolidating our local egalitarian economy into a united socialist state of Africa, then Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom is in the wrong political party. Perhaps, the NPP will be most suitable for him if NDC has a brutish founder. Where does he stand? A pretentious political trick of a wolf in sheep’s clothing and parading as an Nkrumaist, yet principally worshiping ‘political thievery’ in Ghana for Western imperialism. Is it true he is the only flag bearer of a socialist political party who would never speak out against US nonsense in Libya?

On August 9th and 10th of this year, delegates from across the country will converge at the La Trade Fair Center to elect new leaders for our great party. Certainly, local imperialism has a strategy of sharing regency fried rice, packed and labeled with hotel name to signal to delegates where it is coming from so it could influence votes. Delegates should eat the fried rice vegeboomly, since we know the food are crumbs of the wealth of our country which has accumulated to the side of some few individuals of whom Nduom is classed. Delegates expect that the party’s National Executives will share food for all delegates in the name of CPP and not in the name of Nduom. Congress Committee budgeted for food and so if food is deliberately denied from the delegates under the pretext that Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom will share food, then *ALUTA CONTINUA!!!!*

The struggle continues and hopes are that Samia is elected as the national chairperson. She may have her weaknesses but she is far credible than those in party leadership now. She brings credibility, sincerity and transparency to the Nkrumaist political leadership.
