  Thanks to all those who took the time to comment. I want to give a quick response to a few of the comments that were critical of religion, and quite rightly so. One or two comments mentioned the fact that we need more scientists and doctors etc and I would agree with that. We need to remember, however, that religion is sometimes unfairly singled out as evil, whereas other systems are let off the hook. It is true that religion has a dark side but we need to remember that it has a dark side only because it is run, if you like, by human beings with their own weaknesses and therefore religion does not have the preserve when it comes to evil. Germany, the most educated nation on earth at the time gave us the Holocaust - 6 million people were butchered. Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and others are remembered in infamy and these were not religious people by any stretch of the imagination. Secondly, when I talk about religion, I use it in the sense of it's pure form, not how some have used it. As Augustine said, you cannot judge a philosophy by its abuse. We do not judge education by its abuse and we do not judge politics by its abuse. Maybe we should extend the same courtesy to religion. Thanks again.
