Ama Benyiwa Doe (Central Regional Minister) thinks Fantes are still Concert People.
Many a Ghanaian in the past mocked the Fantes as "Concert People". This was due to their constantly humorous attitudes that many people wrongly perceived for their nonchalance or lackadaisicalness. The Fantes have long shed their perceived comical attitudes. They are now more serious and wiser than many others are.
Now, a fellow Fante, Hon. Ama Benyiwa Doe, in her recent appeal for support for caretaker President John Dramani Mahama, seems to take the generality of the Fantes for fools. In canvassing for the NDC and President Mahama after the President had appointed Vice President Ammisah-Arthur as his running mate for the December 7, 2012 elections, Ama Benyiwa Doe made a cock-up. She said, "All the people of Central region should show their appreciation for President Mahama for appointing his running mate from the region by voting en masse to ensure the re-election of the NDC and President Mahama".
To her, the thankful recognition of President Mahama's invaluable offer to the Fantes lies in their massive votes to him and the NDC on December 7, 2012. When I sit down and ponder over Ama's request to the Fantes, I ask myself, for what does she take them, fools, or still the wrongly perceived lazy lots? There is a saying, "how meaningful will the droplets of rain be to you if you found no satisfaction in the heavy downpour of the rain itself?"
God, Satan or whoever, appointed onto Ghana a president from the Central region. I believe God appointed President Mills from the Central region when the majority of Ghanaians were clamouring for a change in government. This was when they had had enough of the NPP government. My argument is, if a President from the region was not enough to help realise the dreams of the inhabitants, what will a Vice President, a subordinate with curtailed powers be able to achieve?
Ama Benyiwa Doe, a disgraced, insatiably greedy opportunist as she is, is only after her selfish, but not the collective, interest of the Fantes or the people of Central region. She wants to see the equally corrupt caretaker President Mahama and the NDC re-elected so that she can continue to fleece Ghana in peace.
My question to fellow Akans from the Central region, why was Allotey Jacobs always fighting and trading insults with Ama Benyiwa Doe on air. Was it not all about corrupt practices where Allotey Jacobs felt cheated by her? Was Allotey not always threatening to expose her malfeasances if Benyiwa Doe failed to treat him fairly?
Finally, scrutinize the social, political and economic situation in which you currently find yourself before giving away your precious vote on December 7, 2012. If you intend to continue to live in your precariously worsening current economic situation, then follow the advice of Ama Benyiwa Doe to vote for NDC and President Mahama. On the other hand, if you want to extricate yourself from the shackles of mental and psychological slavery in which you currently find yourself deeply embedded, owing to the short-sightedness, lawlessness, corruption and aimless "can't do" attitudes by the NDC, then vote NPP and Nana Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, my adorable "Obuggie"
My fellow Akans from the Central region in particular, and Ghanaians in general, do not let the "last minute.com" vain promises by President Mahama and the NDC distract or lure you to vote the NDC. They are as usual, pure propaganda without substance. Make NDC a history by massively VOTING THEM OUT. They are a stain in the politics of Ghana, as openly corrupt, incompetent and mediocre as they are. They are a disgrace that blemishes your reputation as a Ghanaian. Many are Ghanaians that feel ashamed to be Ghanaians because of the wayward governance and the unrivalled resolutely determined propensity by the NDC government to supervise and perpetrate corruption in Ghana.
