Morality
in politics is a treacherous terrain and any attempt by Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe and the NPP to moralise the issue of the number of women President John Mahama has slept with can be politically toxic. It is a calculated risk if NPP decides to make it an issue in their campaign. It is a weak negative campaign tactic. The NPP should sit down and examine its own moral issues religiously.
Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe must be told that a person in a glass house does not throw stones. The world is a stage. Whiles you are peeping through the opening in your friend's pants another person is peeping into yours.
Did the NPP Flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo gave birth to his four daughters with one woman? Has Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe not seen the video which captured Nana Addo groping and fondling breats of a make-up artist of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) after she had completed preparing him for a programme?
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong the ever vociferous NPP Member of Parliament has uncountable concubines and numerous children born out of wedlock. He fathered a child with the Adjoa Sarfo the daughter of the revered Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo a situation that we hear is making the Apostle so uncomfortable. Adjoa Sarfo incidentally is an aspiring Member of Parliament for a constituency in Accra.
It is on record that former President Kufuor had a number of call mates including the famous Giszel Yadzi when he was President of Ghana. Dr. Richard Anane a former Roads and Highways Minister under Ex-President Kufour shamelessly resigned from Kufuor's government because he went and fathered a child whiles on duty abroad.
If Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe is telling us that President John Mahama is insane because he slept with a number of women it thus imply that Nana Akufo-Addo, Kennegy Ohene Agyapong, former President Kufuor, Dr Richard Anane and many other NPP leading members are also mental hospital materials.
The mother of former President Kufuor decided to sleep with several men and bore children for each of them. It is her right. I cannot also for instance say that Ms. Ursula Owusu is a prostitute even though she claims that she sleeps with the man she likes. Why? Because no one has said that he paid her for sex. Frances Assiam of the NPP has multiple children with multiple men. It is her right.
Barack Obama has 19-year-old son who made rare appearance at Democratic Party National Convention. The teenager, who has lived his entire life with his mother. In the US this not news and never came up for discussion. Obama in an interview said he was excited that he and his son Luther were spending quality time together and “finally starting to get to know each other.”
“I can’t say I was the perfect father by any means,” said Obama, admitting candidly that he “wasn’t always there for Luther.” “While my son has battled his share of problems, his mother really did the best she could raising him, and I think she did a fine job. Now Luther and I are ready to move forward and make up for lost time.” “I’m real proud of my boy,” he added,putting his arm around his son. In the US, the issue of Obama's child is not news. Is this story not matured democracy.
Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe truly represent a faded reason.
