Women in our part of the world are now gaining recognition when it comes to top positions be it in the political or the cooperate field, due to the persistent calls from advocate gender groups and women groups.I am one person who always wants to see women climbing to the top in all fieds.

Goal three of the Millenium Development Goals, which aims at championing the women in the developing countries to catch up with their male counterparts is one thing i highly admire.

In Ghanaian history,we’ve seen the first ever woman Chief Justice, madam Georgina T.Woode,Speaker of Parliament, madam Joyce B.Addo and now we also have the highest number of women in our parliament ever in our political history. Atimes when women are given ministerial positions, the criticism is more than that of their male counterparts,we have tall lists of women who were reshuffled due to underperformance on their side. But that shouldn’t be the case, they should be encouraged to soar higher.

I humbly appeal to the President,H.E Jhon D.Mahama to increase his quota of women in his administration to boost the morale of women in the country. The number of women in MMDCe positions are very few and i hope and pray some seats are reserved for women who are industrious and committed to nation building. The probability of women indulging in corrupt practices is very low. Honourable Ama Ranson, assembly member for Kyekyewere electoral area in the Adansi North District is a woman of substance who have dedicated her life to promoting girl child education through entrepreneurship and fashion designing. She trains them for free and supports the unemployed to acquire jobs. She has the potential of being a DCE!
