Does Ghana abound in Little minds?

Tue, 22 Jan 2013 Source: Adofo, Rockson

Of course, Ghana has her fair share of little minds, as you will discover shortly. For quite sometime, many a Ghanaian has been exhibiting acts characteristic of little minds. The current inimical polarisation of Ghanaians occasioned by the different political persuasions they subscribe to has placed the country on a dangerous pedestal. The effusions by some people, who seem to talk before they think, go a long way to indicate the quantity of grey matter enclosed in their skull. The lesser the brain one possesses, the greater his or her little mindedness but with remarkable propensity to talking loose.

By their own actions and words, the little minds expose themselves to public ridicule. Take one Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, alias General Mosquito, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for example. Each time he opens his mouth to utter a statement, he bares his incalculable ignorance for all to see. He recently contextualized that any idiot can go to court. Hardly had the dust settled after making that offensive statement directed at mocking Nana Akuffo-Addo on his Supreme Court petition when he, Asiedu Nketiah, with other NDC faithful decided to petition same Supreme Court. Is Asiedu Nketiah not in this instance portraying himself as the Master or the Superior Idiot by going to court for whatever reason, or with the intention to counterclaim Nana Akuffo-Addo/Bawumia/Lamptey?

Sadly, I must admit that many a member of the NDC family talks loose. Kobby Acheampong is not an exception. This uncultured man who unfortunately hails from Mampong in the Ashanti Region had the shameless audacity to insult the entire Ashanti tribe of which I belong, and most importantly, cocoa farmers. In order for them to be seen and handsomely rewarded by their superiors in the NDC party and government, they had better talk or act regardless the environment or situation and how insane their action at that instance may be. Once the opportunity or the platform offers itself, they had better seize it without a second thought.

The current political atmosphere in Ghana is helping to churn out more little minds especially, from the camp of the NDC. This is not healthy for the socio-politico-economic emancipation or advancement of the country. These little minds believe that by taking to acts of lawlessness with impunity, they are highly regarded in the Ghanaian society. They are rather wrecking the very foundational fabrics on which our tribes, democracy and politics cohere. This is how dangerous little minds are to any society aspiring to progress materially, morally and intellectually.

"Little things please little minds, and Small things please small minds" - People who are not intelligent are pleased by trivial things. Following from the above proverb, I will advise Ghanaians not to cheapen themselves, especially, during elections by selling their votes for peanuts. They should also not involve in acts or commissions that will disenfranchise them or place their reputation in doubt. Anyone who offers him or herself to be used in the sense that Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and other NDC members are deplorably doing is honestly of little mind.

If Asiedu Nketiah and Kobby Acheampong are to me of little minds, then numerous are they in the NDC. If they are that many in the NDC, as I have barely established, then Ghana is doomed as she is greatly likely to abound in little minds of all sorts. Is this not the reason why they can hardly understand the just course assumed by Nana Akuffo-Addo/Bawumia/Lamptey to seeking peace in Ghana? Nana decided to seek redress in court instead of going on rampage in the streets as the NDC would hastily have done if they had suffered that tremendous injustice as complained about by Nana Dankwah Akuffo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia. This shows the level of unrivalled intelligence by Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP.

NPP, please stay focused and be resolute as advised by KOFI BASOAH. God reveals to redeem. The dream by Kofi Basoah is how God has revealed your victory on condition that you remain resolute in your pursuit of justice with regard to the electoral fraud that has temporarily robbed Nana Akuffo-Addo of his presidential victory.
