How do you expect to see any improvement from Ghana a nation when a 140-pound man is given a ministery as a minister, in one year the 140-pound man becames 180-pound ma. While in countries that are serious when a 140-pound man assume the office of a minister in one year the 140-pound man would lose 20 pounds because he is always thinking of how to improve his responsibily. But Ghana a minister goes to work at 10am and lunch time at 1pm and such minister will not come back to work. Ghana students abroad i do feel your pains and i hope it gets better.

In order to get quick response, i suggest you adhere to the wise words of Malcom X. The government of Ghana is one big circus and a criminal organisation. You cannot dialogue with such animals who do not place any value on transparency. Lamin, you are a born leader who is not afraid to speak the truth, may God bless you always. Our time will come whereby these idiots will answer why our children are still sitting under trees as a classroom. Surely Ghana government is slowly steering the country on the road to Kigali.

Besides, he never mentionned specifically that it is the 250 students who are starving.
Yes students from rich families will not have such problems. But we all know thet not all of them are from a wealthy family.
And just so you Know, I am not in Cuba. In fact a am not even a student, but I do understand the plight of these students.

there are moe than 250 students in cuba. the earlier are all located in one place, the latter are scattered all over the island. if the embassy spoke to the earlier, the rest dont know anything about that.

Have u ever visited any of the campuses were some of us the continuing students are living? Your case might be better because the government of Ghana pays for everything for you guys, so I guess u are not going through the mental trauma that some of us are going through, so please concentrate on the spanish language, u still have over 6yrs yo go. I have only 2 yrs to leave this "mysterious world"

sweetheart, please do not wash your dirty laundry in public.if you have a personal problem with Lamin,this is not the avenue by which to express it.Lamin is fighting for all students studying in Cuba not just you 250. remember there were people here before you came and before you came in, our stipends were delayed for 5 months.This is not the first time this is happening.The Embassy deems you 250 as "special" and so if you were given an explanation,we weren't. Please resolve your personal issues with Lamin elsewhere and not here where issues much bigger than the two of you are being resolved.Being paid $250 dollars out of a debt of $2050 is actually nothing.We all do not have the same conditions of living as you fortunate "special" 250. Please be more subtle and cautious in your comments.

Government should immediately terminate the appointment of the PRO in GETFUND, for deceiving the whole world that monies have been paid into the accounts of students abroad. I am sure if the government had told him that his salary had been paid into his bank account and he went and realised that there was no money in his account, in a couple of minutes he will organize a press conference, which has become very typical of Ghanaians now. Staff of GETFUND should stop playing with human feelings, I wish all of them will apply for schools abroad, get admitted and come over and experience what they put people through. They need to be trained on how to manage people, the uncouth way of not answering calls and the "checky" way of treating your clients must stop immediately please.

It is really worrying to hear colleagues in Cuba face similar programs .The situation here is also worse now and is amended with fake promises for the departments in charge of scholarships.

The Scholarship Secretariat entity was setup to be used by Ghana's rich, powerful and the well connected to send their children outside Ghana while the parents use their positions and or connections to the halls of power to raid Ghana's coffers.
Ask anyone at Ghana's Scholarship secretariat and or anyone at Ghana's embassies/missions to give you information on either the number of Ghanaians in any nation outside Ghana on government scholarship and or the status of each of those students and I bet my last dollar neither the Secretarial or the embassies would know. Like everything Ghana we abuse the hand outs from Western civilized nations because of a national government built to adhere to tribal and regional preferences instead of love of Ghana and its people.
For those students who are trapped in foreign countries because of Ghana governments failure to manage their stipends I say look to other means to supplement your studies and stay because the government is incapable of keeping up with you, your studies and or progress and they darn sure do not intend on improving a system that has been a joke since the 70’s.

We always here grape-vine rumours as to when the money will be coming... it's been a little over 5 months now and we havent heard any positive news... last year we had to be paid until after 7 months... why?... I thought the government would have learnt a big lesson from it...but obviusly it hasnt....

This problem has reared its ugly head because of the laxity of our own leaders in Ghana...They are sitting down there unconcered whiles we are suffering here...Even attempts to receive money from our parents from home have proved futile... we are stuck up in the middle of no where... We are only living at the mercies of God...

i am projecting that we will all be dying one after the other if we dont hear any good news in this coming month...

why should you bring 250 students when you know there is no funds to take care of them?...
