T'ardi people have big mouth!! Why name Takoradi, Oil City? I think this type of praise should stop. So how will you call Obuasi, gold city? I beg stop this big talk because it doesn't do any good to the Takoradi.

Your comparison of Obuasi to Johannesburg unearths some pertinent questions. Obuasi needs to be developed just like any other town/city by the Central government and not by the mining companies. The mining company (Anglogold) will develop what is necessary for its operations. Remember they pay 1.Royalties. 2. Corporation tax. 3. All the workers pay income tax. and 4.social security contributions. Monies from the first three above go to Central government. Poor management is the reason Obuasi is not developed. Anglogold even built the Obuasi General hospital. They have their own hospital for their staff and dependants. Stop bothering corporations. Stop lying for the bad governance and rather take them to task. The South African government wisely invested govt revenue to develop Johannesburg. Mahama's NDC ARE SPENDING GHS15m on 600 guinea fowls and 20 eggs ( Infact only 40% ; 240 guinea fowls and 8 eggs as RIG owns 60%)

The difference between these two mines town/city is, one is operated with people with local ingenuity and the love to settle there.
With this local ingenuity, you save a lot of money from imports and also value adding technology gives you an edge.
On the other hand, Obuasi like many other mining towns in Ghana depends on foreigners to run the show and import every thing from huge machines to the smallest, therefore bleeding the fortunes of the mines. The town chief and elders plus Ghana government are just contented with the royalties paid by the foreigner who is there but not to settle, and as long as his immediate needs are met, he careless if the roads are tarred or not 'cause he vacations in Europe the least time he gets.
Ghana needs to get over these technology deficiencies to mass produce everything from beer(working man's drink at affordable price) to machines to clean our cities.

Do you guys know why gov. of Ghana spend more than almost billion dollars every year on our health? ok then if you do not know is because the sewerage system. Instead of having so many street in Ghana, I would rather prefer to have the sewerage system. we always build houses, roads and other things but still having health problems. Ask or tell me, how can human being progress without good health. This is the point we need to talk about in our everyday life. Do we still want to go to bush and to move our bowls? or an a gutter? Please let us be serious.

i dont agree with your opinion, because accident causes a lot of death on our roads daily with the reason of bad roads therefore spending on our road is the best thing to do also the same like health sector.

Both of you guys are right in your respective comments and are discussing a very important Economic Theory that you may not have any idea of, ie Opportunity Cost/ Scale Of Preference. You have distinguished yourselves among the idiotic Fool-soldiers of the NDC and duly proven beyond every reasonable doubt that you are smarter than the Guinea Fowl president who in spite of the numerous economic challenges facing the nation, in the areas of water supply, power generation, gas shortages not to mention the high cost of living, has chosen guinea fowl production as a top priority. Ghana will never see the glory of God the Allah with such tribalistic hate mongering buffoons in government.

Do you think our policy makers don't know how to turn infrastructure development round? Nkrumah built the Central Railroad system, the Achiasi Kotoku line. So that one would not have to travel all the way from Takoradi to Kumasi first when traveling by rail to Accra. He also added the Dunkwaw Ofinso to Awaso line as well as Accra to Tema. Nkrumah only built and never destroyed like his detractors will have us believe. The Tarkwa railway station had an underground tunnel linking both sides.

Willie Roy Agbo, are you out of your mind or perhaps, you don't read enough together your facts before putting hands on to type your story. I'm baffled as to how everything in this country is credited to Kwame Nkrumah even though he, nkrumah came to inherit every facet of developmental program from the Colonial masters. This writer, Willie Roy Agbo is also, crediting the building of Takoradi Kumasi Railway to Kwame Nkrumah is madding. The Triangular Railway of Accra -Takoradi -Kumasi was the work of the Colonial Regime and not Kwame Nkrumah. Since independence, not a meter of Railway track has been added to what the British built, an indictment to the independence achievement...
