It will only come to an end when politicians stop exploiting the lowest instincts of the people-- tribalism, xenophobia, class envy, insecurity to their political advantage. People from different tribes and from the class and political divide feel insecure that's why they talk the way they do.That day will only come when justice, opportunities and rights are equally guaranteed to every ghanaian regardless of their political or tribal affiliation, class or social status, when each ghanaian has an equal stake in the fortunes and misfortunes of the nation. In that day we shall have no cause to refer to some group of people as inward looking or tribalistic, or to another as greedy bastards, "yen akan fo de", etc. In that day instead of rewarding people for no work done and or for laziness just because they come from a particular tribe or they belong to a particular party or class, hard work and ingenuity will be recognized and rewarded. That'd be the day. For now blame the politicians. What did you Matthew have to say to Mahama when he said during his presidential campaign that "it's time for a northerner to be President?" That was gross and absurd coming from a presidential candidate. It was a full octave below low key. That statement would have cost him the presidency somewhere else but not in today's Ghana. "How many people we know who sour their lives and others, who ruin all that's sweet and beautiful by explosive tempers, who destroy their poise of character, and make bad blood!" Talk to President Mahama first. He holds the key to uniting all ghanaians under the red, gold , green and black star flag. Talk next to the politicians and traditional leaders.Your energy is misdirected.
