How the count at the registry shot up to 13,000+ with Gloria Akuffo proclaiming loudly that they had over-supplied the registry with pink sheets;the purpose for which we do not know as of yet. You see, what should ordinarily have been a rather simple problem to deal with.was allowed to develop into a big issue, but I am glad things turned out this way.
First,if the NPP still maintains it served the 11,842 and some on the registry, how come same sets were not made available to the respondents and the Judges? We can all live with a handfull of missing exhibits here and there, but not close to the 17% of the total, if Maggie Jackson`s source is believable! is this why the petioners are dragging their feet in bringing a resolution to this matter? If exhibits at the registry have been counted, and the 'control set' in the custody of the Presiding Judge has also been ascertained, why the delay of more than a week?
If on the other hand exhibits that had not been served at the registry have somehow now foud thier way into the court registry, the question is how did this come about, any why the need to engage in what amounts to a very 'stupid' cover-up?
based on what I have witnessed during these hearings,I believe a plausible case can be made the petitioners were caught with their pants down, and rather than admit it, and blame this on the pressures of coming up with such voluminous amount of paperwork in such a little time, they decided to play tough, and engage in a cover-up.
Of course, the registry has a lot more explaining to do regardless;because this whole episode has brough to the fore, the level of corruption and administrative inefficiencies we have in the Justice System of our country. Everybody is dumping on the EC,but look at the 'mess' officials at the SC have created for the panel.
The CJ,as the head of the Judiciary, should take a serious look at the internal set-ups of the various courts to prevent evidence tampering, dockets disappearing into thin air, leaks of information etc. if this review has not begun, then she should set the ball rolling. The SC should put their own house in order before rushing to pass judgement on the EC!

What kind of justice system are we operating in this country that even exhibits served are found wanting?
The bottomline is that our country is already in deep trouble and THAT OUR LEADERSHIP IS ROTTEN TO THE CORE.
This is the point where every concern citizen should look up to the President, as our first citizen, for QUALITY AND UNCOMPROMISING LEADERSHIP. He must be a leader who is prepared to stick his neck out and do the right thing by cleaning the rot that has seriously damaged the foundation of democracy. If the President cares to know, he should take a walk in Accra at night and observe fiili fili the wretchedness of some of his citizens.
The President must start setting the right examples because there is too MUCH CORRUPTION IN GHANA. The ministries, civil service, ministers etc are rotten to the core.
Rotten
Rotten
It is time for the President to act to arrest this dangerous situation before it is too late.
What is happening with the pink sheets is just a tip of the iceberg. If it could happen when all the world is watching then we can imagine when nobody is watching.
Sad commentary.

Jake, you are dead wrong on my take on the President. I totally agree that charity begins at home but it is the overwhelming responsibility of the President to see to it that the laws of Ghana are enforced to the hilt. It is not the responsibility of parents to enforce the laws of Ghana. It is the sole prerogative of the President. There is a reason why we call the President our first citizen. Why do you think that we hold him in high esteem?
It is disturbing that there is too much corruption in the country. Tell me one sector of our national life that is free from this cancer of corruption? Just one. There is corruption everywhere and it has destroyed the foundation of our society.
The ruling class is unprepared to change their evil ways and for that matter the country is heading towards destruction. The ruling class in Nigeria for years brazenly refused to deal ruthlessly with corruption and now the whole country is suffering.
The irony here is that when trouble breaks, members of the ruling class and their children and relatives and cronies will flee from the country and it is always the poor that will be left to deal with the vagaries of their misrule and corruption.
If our leaders have any conscience left in them, they should clean the country of corruption before it is too late. Why should a fabulously rich country like Ghana be going around borrowing $158 million dollars when Tema Harbor can get that in a month?
Our leaders are simply callous and swallowed by greed and avarice. And there is always a price to pay.

In any case at all levels of life is a structure, call it chain of command.
1. There is the great grand father, grand father father, children e,t,c like building blocks.
So if a child has a problem, he/she talks to his mum/dad first, b4 grand father...
What i am deducing from yours (and correct me if am wrong) your first port of call is your local MP, should you know of specific act of corruption.
You have a citizen's right to ask your MP to raise that in parliament, (Documented) and ask for feedback.
You may escalate if you do not hear from him/her. Minister. Suffice to say our country is fledging democracy - lack of checks/balances/pversights.
What worries me is, we do not follow the procedures or lack of it. But we are always quick to buy into rumor innuendo e,t,c
If people get together in a civil way and present a case to Parliament, in a civil/disobedience way parliament will be obliged to act,
Your quote of $158m at Tema port may be true or false, excuse me to say I do not know, only read it,
Problem is we do not use our ballot with conscience.
Parties splash out a few cedis on day of election and we vote for them - no protest vote.- corruption is at the grass roots as well as the top agree?
Hence the reason I said in what I wrote. I could go on and on 'cos MP'S Ministers in Ghana make me sick, and they carry on doing so for a long time vis the tribal/nepotic ho has that goes on.
So Thank you my friend, your point is well taken

Mediocrity breeeds mediocrity. At every level of our educational system today(including the university) at least 40% of the entrants go through protocol. Meaning they failed to meet the minimum entry requirement but entered because a relation of theirs is a politician. This permeats through every aspect of our life. Nobody is concerned about weak structures in the government setup as officials continue to simply steal our funds at the least opportunity. Am not sure the president can do anything different as he evolved from the same system? everybody who has ever been an MP owns a car and house which virtually came for free? how this is done is simply to raise MPS pay by more than 100% at the end of year 4 with an effective date being the beginning of year 1?? not sure this happens in any country including failed states like Somalia!!! and this equally applies to government officials? we need divine intervention

Tis is a stupid article. the only way a true picture can be ascertained will be to count the sheets of all the judges. it is in the interest more of the respondents that the figures vary from what is stated in court. in any case counting the sheets without an analysis is a waste of everybodies time unless somebody somewhere wants the case to go on for 3 years. so issues related to the process will be investigated or analysed only when they come up in court? Sincerely all we need is a benevolent dictator and not this mediocre democracy which we practice only on voting day once every 4 years!!! there are too many things going wrong in the country and the priority is the election court case?? The country is static and maybe somebody will have to exploit the ingredients of coup detats that are visible now to clear the old guards(ruling class from 1981 to now) for some new ideas to evolve. Not sure NPP or NDC has a solution to the problem. The whole society including the Judges, parliamentarians and all government officials have been compromised and are delivering low or mediocre levels of service to mother Ghana at the highest cost? We definately need devine intervention??

Dismissal on technical grounds is what the petitioners wanted in the first place so they could tell their supporters that they had a strong case but the Supreme Court was bias and dismissed their case. That is why they examined 24,000 instead of 26,002 pink sheets and submitted an unwholesome petition in the first place.
The Supreme Court should rule on the over voting, lack of signatures and duplicated serial numbers and say whether 4 million votes should be annulled and consequently determine if they can by proclamation declare Akuffo Addo President of Ghana.

Both the 1st and 3rd respondents lawyers went back to the registry for the remaining pink sheets they claimed not to have so, if Atuguba too were to open his within that same period, he would have resorted to the supreme court registry to claim the remainder if any. How can we be sure if all three respondents come out finally to claim that they all had almost the same number of pink sheets as Atuguba when they declined to mention it earlier on? could they not conspire among themselves?

Ghanaians cannot trust Atuguba to be fair from the look of things. If indeed he and his team are looking for the truth they could compel the EC to produce the original documents in contention to court so that they match those with what the petitioners have filed with the court so that if there is no merit they dismiss the case. Why I am saying this? as a lay man common sense will agree with mine submission. When Tsatsu Tsikata and other respondents were doing their cross examination the bench were lenient with them and even with his request for the count of the pink sheets was hurriedly granted and look at how the bench is trying to frustrate the petitioners council to the extent that Justice Atuguba in open court could say that the unwillingness of Tsikata & co to make known the pink sheets they are missing is their strategy. If the court fails to unravel the truth, the truth will surely and eventually emerged no matter the suppression.
