Is Kwabena Agyepong Disappointing The Memory Of…?

Sun, 21 Sep 2014 Source: Adofo, Rockson

I shall be extremely disappointed in my traditional son, Mr Kwabena Agyepong, the NPP General Secretary, should the rumours doing rounds in some circles in both Ghana and abroad turn out to be nothing, but the truth. I have in one of my previous articles explained why Kwabena is my son. Therefore, I shall not be explaining the circumstances leading up to that assertive proclamation in this publication again.

The rumour has it that he has been on the pad; his palms heavily greased with dollar or Cedi wads by a member of the National Democratic Party (NDC). The aim of that sneaky enterprise is to ensure the defeat of Nana Akufo Addo in presidential election 2016 should he be elected the flagbearer at the NPP Congress scheduled for 18 October 2014, the rumour establishes.

I currently do not have the means to ascertain the truthfulness of the allegation against him as inherent in the rumour. However, there is the slightest (element of) truth in every rumour, so a saying goes. If the rumour turns out credible, then I can only imagine how my senior brother (Agona Clan member), the late Justice Agyepong, the biological father of Kwabena Agyepong, will be writhing in his grave. He cannot withstand the pain of his son intentionally, maliciously of course, succumbing to the trickeries of the NDC, to inflict further injuries on his memory.

Everyone will recall how the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) that has morphed into today’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) murdered him alongside two other judges and a retired army major, in cold blood in June 1982. How on earth will his own sperm-son now manipulatively dine with his murderers? Will such a ploy not be an insult and betrayal to the memory of the dead father?

I do not believe Kwabena will sell his conscience and dignity to the very party and people that callously terminated the life of his father in such an inhumane way. However, there is the slightest truth in every rumour. I will give him the benefit of the doubt but not without saying, the truth will out one day, and actions speak louder than words.

What evil at all has Nana Akufo Addo done to some members of the NPP to warrant that level of mischief and malignity towards him? Dr Anane, Kwadwo Mpianin, Hilda Addo, Nana Ohene Ntow and others are scheming against Nana Addo all for stupid reasons. Ashantis do not have problems with Akyems, be it historical or current. Nana Addo can never permanently be held responsible for the actions of Mr William Ofori Atta (Paa Willie) for causing the defeat of Popular Front Party (PFP) of Victor Owusu to People’s National Party (PNP) of Dr Hilla Limann in 1979. It is pure infantilism the purported reasons forming the basis of the mentioned persons’ animosity towards Nana Akufo Addo, the modern day biblical David or Joseph.

It is sad to hear, whether true or false, via rumours that some people would want to see Nana Akufo Addo and Kennedy Agyapong dead. This is all because of their quest to rule Ghana, but find the named persons as a hindrance to their aspirations.

Be it understood by all NPP members and Ghanaians that any finger raised on Nana Addo and Kennedy with intent to harm them SHALL be cursed by God. Attack on them is an attack on all the suffering Ghanaian masses that are daily supplicating God to send them a liberator to redeem them from the current shackles of economic slavery wrapped around their ankles and hands by the Mahama/Arthur-Amissah NDC-led government.

Father God, please note that the house of NPP is divided. You have said that a house divided against itself shall not stand, but fall. I believe you have designated Nana Akufo Addo for a purpose. Would you please therefore continue to expose his enemies and their evil deeds to let your plans for him come to pass? Again, please strengthen me to continue to be the self-style scribe for the poor and needy until victory is won by your anointed one, Nana Akufo Addo, to extricate Ghanaians from their tormenting socio-economic plight they find themselves under President Mahama.

Money does not secure a person absolute happiness. Being intentionally wicked towards a fellow NPP member carries a curse to the evildoer, so be aware of it, all those who desire to cause the downfall of Nana Akufo Addo.

A good son hears the voice of his father even if the father is dead. May this be so with Kwabena Agyepong?
