How to stop Corruption
1. Corruption Sensitivity Training: Educate the executives(attorney general, the judges, public officials, immigration, police officers)about the short, long term effects and impacts of corruption. Corruption Sensitivity Training should be a mandatory part of interview process, class, testing requirement for all ministers and public sector officials. Make them aware of the consequences and have them sign off on this. If judges, police officers, employees are educated and made to understand the explicit and implicit impacts of corruption and how it affects their own salaries, bonuses etc. Things will change!
2. Enforce the Law: Offenders must face jail time, tickets/fines, sell assets to payback what has been stolen, name and shame offenders in media
3. Put ethical persons in positions of power
4.NPP: Narcotic Peddlers Party
5.NDC: Niggas Deep in Corruption

It almost appears even the president is more hopeless. Citizens like Mr. Okoe, who admittedly knows there is corruption, seems helpless. He's even asking you to name one corrupt individual or shut up. Matter of fact Mr. Okoe is suggesting that we should all keep quiet and let it be. He said you should go to the police. How unfortunate! Mr. Okoe, in his response meant to say those who are voted into positions of power by the citizens to either eradicate or minimize this cancer in our society don't have the sense to even address the nation their plans in place to combat corruption, which is basically what you asking the president to do. You see the mentality of our people? Ghana must work again!

Dr. Charles should lecture us on how in a pretentious democracy like Ghana, the executive branch offices of the president could usurp powers of the Judiciary to punish wrong doers in Ghana while the legislators sit around? I will forgive Dr. Charles if he forgot, did not know and or did not hear about MP's of the largest opposition party in Ghana, the NPP, joining hands with criminals to storm radio and TV stations because someone dared insult, accuse or expose activities of a card carrying member of the NPP?

I find it rather disheartening when the educated in Ghana take to the airwaves, print and use the web to give credence to fallacies in complete disregard for the truth, processes and the structures we have erected. My beef, Dr. Charles Appeadu, centers on the Woyome saga which is at the root of the most blatant and effective source of stealing by government officials that most of you guys refuse to understand or see as resolved. Because most executives in government offices and associated contractors get free and unchecked government money through closed or open bid contracts, it did become the tool for Kufour to steal and for his men to steal. Yes most Kufour backers and the NPP will deny Kufour stole through the open bid process unless of course you are aware, have used and know best practices and procedures of the public bid process, open or close. Corruption comes in various forms but allowing wanton practice of what is called an inside job is criminal in any country. Thus when Kufour waited for the stadium bids to come in, opened and conditional award granted to Woyome and his team only for Kufour and his men to use the best price to lure a Chinese company to take the award is corruption at its gutter level by a president. How then would the president of the nation have the gull to tell the justice department and or judiciary to do their mandated jobs? It's up to you Dr. Appeadu, and many other can define or see what is corruption if far away and pretend not to see those close by.

I wrote in 2007 that Kufuor failed to punish corruption and I wished Atta Mills would deviate from that position and fight this evil, but he didn't. Now, according to NDC's own founder, Jerry Rawlings, corruption has reached epidemic levels. Please don't force me into a political category I do not belong!

Cardiffman, I agree with you but that is all part of what leaders do. They lead cultural change. It is not as difficult as it seems. If a true leader emerges on the scene and challenges people to do the right things, with the leader himself doing the right things religiously and consistently, and also punishing and rewarding accordingly, the change will surely take place. People learn by observation and experience. Yes, the leader will initially face opposing and doubts because he is championing a new course. An unchartered territory. But if he continues to live by example and demonstrates the benefits of the new way, eventually people will buy into his ideas and the change we are talking about will begin to take place. You can't just tell people to change while doing nothing about the status quo!

His silence is too conspicuous. Is it truly CREATE, LOOT and SHA RE ? What is this ? At least talking abt it will, to an extent, make it unpopular. Because of corruption a lot of people these days seems to be calling for military intervention. Is that what we want ?
