Busia told foreigners to leave ghana because Ghana is a small country. Ghana does not have the electricity nor the infrastructure to handle such a huge population. This is why Ghana's economy is struggling today. By the way, Ghana as a country is not cursed, but it is the people who reside in the country are cursed, because they have forsaken their ancestors for western culture.

Clearly, Busia showed his true anti-democratic, anti-African-Unity character, when he ordered the Nigerians to leave en mass, without effective due process, or advance notice.
But, it is not logical to say that events following the Busia Alien's Compliance Order have been a curse on Ghanaians because Ghanaians have also been deported from other countries, that some of them have been killed as a result of strife in foreign lands.
It only shows us a lack of knowledge on the history of global migration.
After all, a lot many more are still living safety/comfortably in many other countries, even on the continent of Africa.
So, Mr. Stephen Atta Owusu, don't love your "Dark Faces" so much you take the wrong turn at the Migration "Crossroads".
Peace!

The fact that we are similarly coloured doesn´t make us one people. I believe the cultures and languages even separates us as different people. In a larger scale. we Africans are from respective countries within the African continent. So we don't have a country called Africa. But factly it is and will be great if we can harness our activities, because of similar climate and resources among others.

Ok, the CPP govt did not embark on mass deportation of aliens in Ghana but Nkrumah deported specific individuals as a means of weakening the opposition against him. Often those so deported used legal means to prove their Ghanaian citizenship but some of them were deported even before their cases in court were decided.
In 1957, two prominent members of the Muslim Association Party, Alhaji Baba and Alhaji Alufa Laleme were deported to Nigeria. At the same time, Bankole Timothy, a Sierra Leonean journalist who was Deputy Editor of Daily Graphic was sent packing.
A British lawyer, Christopher Shawcross, brought in to defend the Ashanti Pioneer was deported too. Another British lawyer, Geoffrey Bing, acting for the government in the case was not deported - of course. Shawcross decided to defy his deportation order by trying to re-enter the country after going to see the deportees in Nigeria. The police "read him the law".
Other deportees to Nigeria included Osman Larden and Amadu Baba.
The CPP government also deported some bona fide Ghanaians to Togo with claims that they were not Ghanaians when the real reason for their deportations was their active membership of the opposition Togoland congress.
In 1962, the Anglican Bishop of Accra, Rt Rev Reginald Richard Roseveare, was deported for complaining to a synod in Cape Coast about the teachings of the Young Pioneers.
1964, six lecturers of Legon were sent packing. Russell Howe, British journalist, was also deported for making false report about Ghana...
If you were a foreigner and you opposed Nkrumah, they deported you immediately even if you were born in the Gold Coast and could use that to claim Ghanaian citizenship. You were sent packing...
At the same time foreigners who were attuned to Nkrumah's ideologies were warmly welcomed. Some of the prominent lecturers at the Kwame Nkrumah ideological institute were Nigerians. These guys were even more Marxist than Nkrumah ever was.
Anyway, the CPP never went after foreigners who were just petty traders or farmers with no interest in politics. Busia's govt went even after these people...

Look at Ghanaians everywhere on the globe are we being kicked out? Busia narrowmindness of not embracing diversity but instead alienating foreigners was Ghana down fall. Amin did the same things and those Indian who left Uganda has made it big in the U.K and US. Everyone in this world has something worth valuing and where they come from is not relevant really. This is why the British has mastered but Africans are yet to mastered this secret. Robert Mugabe is the same.
