Kofi, all these agitations, including court cases, are part of the plot to delegitimize the Mahama Presidency, that started with the Election petition. All these actions, have been done under the lofty ideals of strengthening our democratic process. A more sober and objective reflection on these actions however betrays the cynical moves to portray this president's actions as unconstitutional. Their hypocrisy is even more evident when one notes that such actions had been taken by previous gov'ts without a pip from any of these organizations.
Thanks for calling their actions what they really are. Only actions from their preferred political tradition are constitutional and democratic.
I can bet my last pesewa that all these agitations and court cases will cease when their preferred side comes to power. They will surely lose their voices then.

Now all members of NPP have sent their money abroad because NDC is in power and to bring it back only when NPP is in power. But the Good Lord does not favour this kind of wicked unpatriotic behaviour. So the Lord will assist and NPP will always loose elections until they abandon their unpatriotic behaviour. AMEN.

I would like to know from Mr. Kofi Ata the world view or set of ideas a judge holds in Ghana that qualifies him to be called a "conservative" or "progressive". At least, We heard something about the ideologies of conservative and liberal judges in America, but we don't know what this classification means in Ghana, and we would like Mr. Kofi to elaborate on that.

This is an interesting piece. As for the GBA I think a majority of Ghanaians have seen through them.that they are vocal and biased against this government is not strange.we have seen quite a number of suits that purpose to challenge the current president authority and lower his his respect .but they should remember that whether they like him or not he embodies the spirit of the entire nation and the least they can do is accord him and by extension Ghanaians the respect he deserves.the people of Ghana are very discerning, they should not take us for fools.

The Executives of the Bar both past and present, vacillitate on issues based on the political party in power at any point in time.the glass is not opaque and even residents of Dodoma and G, can see through the mischief afoot.

That body has no limit in the ways in which it demonstrates cluelessness.
I personally had my doubts about the credentials of Pwamang because of his lack of judicial experience, and unimpressive academic record. But I can wait to comment on his performance.
Implicit in "advice" is the power to reject same, and if the Council indeed included the appointed two in their list, then their advice was not even rejected per se. The GBA suit is therefore frivolous on its face and will be thrown out by the Supreme Court.
And I hope Kofi does not come here tomorrow to subvert his own conclusion.

Leadership failure in this country, do they avert their minds to the fact that there are three arms of government under our governance structure? And let me say right up front that the Georgina Woode Court, has not shown any remarkable leadership as far as this plethora of frivolous constitutional challenges is concerned. look, but for the firm position taken by her Nigerian counterpart not to his court to be used a battleground to settle electoral matters, like her court had permitted, Nigeria, would still be embroiled in a 'senseless' presidential election dispute. We have also witnessed similar firm determination from other African SCs [Jurisdictions], that have saved these countries the agony and political polarization that often accompany these vexatious constitutional challenges.
If the CJ and her colleagues had been bold and determined to stamp out this 'nonsense' from the get go, I think this avalanche of heading to court by every Tom, Dick and Harry, would have been nipped in the bud!
And let nobody tell me all these vain attempts are intended to "deepen our democracy"; because than sooner, there will be no democracy to defend or talk about, when pure anarchy ensues!

There is vast difference between the recent Nigerian election and that of Ghana in 2012. The final results in Ghana were about 50-50 between the two candidates, whereas the margin between the two candidates in Nigeria was sizable and in favour of General Bukhari. So, Jonathan didn't have any reason to go to Court because there was nothing to complain about. In fact, he didn't concede defeat because he wanted Nigeria to be peaceful as you're trying to portray.

GBA is the most useless body in this country apart from being the most corruptThey are bidding behind their jargons to cause disaffection for the government that have been elected by majority of Ghanaians. I did not see them raise a single issue with the 8 years stealing and looting of Kufour' s government not to talk of the packing of the supreme court to jail Tsatsu. So one wonders where this hopeless GBA, made up criminals were all along. They are always found their best to reduce the lowers of the president. All these is done to bring the npl criminals to power. But what they have forgotten is that, Ghanaians know them more than themselves. May the brains behind this subversion activities against the President know no peace with their family members. When imbecile idiots like Okudjeto can get up and talk shit against a better person. Shits and swines.

These advisory bodies to the president only advice the president on his reserve powers under the constitution because a reserve power is a power that may be exercised by the president without the approval of another branch of the government.
These writs before the sc are only the products of busy bodies who want to clog the courts with vexatious writs and the sc must have the courage to quickly dismiss them for wasting the court's time.Decisions taken by the president on the advice of advisory bodies place no burden on them but the president and hence the buck stops with him.
