Teaching credentials are not derived from local hospitals and homes but granted by a government institution, department of education, via approved post secondary schools and training colleges. So if forged teaching certificates can make it past local school administrators why would the NPP, the LMVC crowd, Mr. and Mrs. Rawlings and others hop on a new voter registry bandwagon when the prerequisite documents expected of applicants/registrants for a new voter ID is as fluid as presenting a teaching certificate or secondary school transcripts? Has the admission practices at some of our colleges and universities not been compromised by a rash of falsified school transcripts from applicants seeking admission? Where then in all of these events can anyone with brains and wisdom pretend we can have a voter register free of the very problems we have with current voter registry? Who said that reducing the number of ghost or unqualified voters on the current registry from 100,000 to 10,000 for example is better? At the end of the day there are precincts and constituencies where elections are won and lost by a margin of less than 100. Would such a razor thin loss or victory make it better for the NPP because the voter registry is presumed to carry less ghost voters?

Validation or endorsement or whatever you calls of teachers' certificate by the institutions they attended and do you think that will help fish out those with dubious documents?. In any case, you have stated that people manage to obtain fake certificates to work as teachers and bad guys are there to render these services, so what makes you think endorsement alone will halt these nausances?. What GES should be doing as a serious public service is to, take a further step in going to the institutions themselves to do the validation or otherwise since each certificate awarded has a unique number to avoid the direct interference of the teacher in this process. Its about time you stop this 'sit down and issue instruction' policies and do the right things. Honestly, the teaching profession is not as enviable as you have envisioned in mind because, constantly and consistently the teacher is at the receving end of these misinformed policies. How do you expect the teacher to travel all the way to Salaga from Axim to authenticate a certificate and in the same vein expect effective teaching the next day. GES must be serious for once, be pragmatist and stop these unnecessary stress, tension and burden on the already stressed teacher. Thank you

Thank you Mr Ofori. You have said it all. GES is doing a lazy job with this validation of certificates of teachers. What is preventing them from going to the institutions the teachers got their certificates from to do their verification? They are only reducing the instructional periods of teachers and the end results will be poor performance if they don't know.
This is a common sense that should be common to them.
