Yes, why should i abondoned my mother tongue and learn another's. There's no majority rule in this situation. My suggestion every region teaches the dominant language in the area.

I have been given to understand O-A that your father was an ardent CPP member part of the Okye youth who passionately stood up against the primitive ethnic animus based politics of danquah & other benighted sections of the Okye elite. The youth who refused to be manipulated in the attempts to intimidate, harass non Okye living within the Okye territory into abandoning their electoral rights because they were more enlightened than their so called betters!
A man is entitled to his own political views I don't fault you for that!! What beats me is that you have abandoned the ethnic comity that you were brought up on and instead morphed into a hideous ethnic jingoist who subscribes to denigratory hatred against non Akan ethnicities!! What happened to you? Is the pursuit of filthy lucre so important that you must abandon solid values!! How sad disgraceful and shameful!!

The Minister should consult widely on this matter. How are we going to manage translating Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Mathematics, and other phenomena into Ghanaian languages of Ga, Ewe, Dagbani, Hausa, Twi, Nzema, Aowin, Effutu, Kyereponi, Bulsa, Gursa, Frafra etc? This is a non-starter! Where is the money to fund the translations? This is a pipe-dream. They tried Swahili in Tanzania and failed miserably. We should learn from others

For a presumed classroom educated individual, Dr. Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe, you have a knack for intellectual dishonesty of the kind that would convince the majority under-educated folks in the Eastern regional enclave of Ghana that 1 + 1 is 10 without articulation of base. There's no commonality in the use of South Korean native language as medium of instruction in South Korean schools, the study of English language, oral or written, by students in South Korean schools and the use of English as the meduim of classroom instruction at schools in Ghana period. In the US, English is the medium of instructions at all schools with exception to Spanish, French and other immersion schools; guess what America continue to be top in everything despite wanting in experts with fluency in some languages and or cultures. The debate in Ghana about use of local language as medium of instruction in our schools is in no way a demand to abandon English as a subject of study in much the same way as in America, South Korea or other nations.
Stop mudding the water with your political blindness because you do no one a favor and you surely can't be a reason or base of pride for anyone majoring in English literature or creative writing; no not even your former students forced to take English as a second language in the US.
