The Right to Information bill to be given serious consideration in parliament

The next parliamentary meetings beginning from Tuesday October 27, will be loaded with many important bills that include the Right to Information bill. The bill is part of 13 other bills now at consideration stages that also includes Companies Bill,2013, Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Bill, Whistleblower (Amendment) Bill, 2015, Ghana Aids Commission Bill and Public Procurement (Amendment) Bill. Aside of these, there are twenty five (25) Bills at table for presentation, these include; Ghana School of Law Bill, Legal Service Bill, Road safety Bill, Tax Administration Bill, Electronic Communication Bill among others.

A summary of agenda released from the Public Affairs Directorate of parliament, for the 3rd meeting of the 3rd session of the 6th parliament of the 4th republic disclosed that, Nine Motions have been tabled for Debate and eighty eight (88) other referrals of Bills at the Committee.

During this meeting, the 2016 budget will be read and appropriate Bills will be passed. MPs will also move to the newly refurbished Job 600 Offices.

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa Region Conference will be held from 2nd to 6th November, 2015. The conference will bring various Speakers, Presiding Officers etc. from eighteen (18) African countries. Gambia will also be participating in the Conference.

The Nine Lessons and a Carol will also be held on the 16th of December, 2015.
