I thought one's experience in certain places do follows him where ever he goes.
l never thought or ever came into my dream that a former sports journalist, in fact, great commentator as Nii Lamptey would witch hunt the football Association when given this mantle as sports minister.
Tradition, when skipped from becomes a rebellious attitude. The tickets for Black stars are always kept at the National sports Authority for the FA's collection, if not a scheming agenda and target purposely orchestrated to disrupt the Association's movements, how come the tickets for Mozambique game ended up at the office of the sports minister? The tradition of sharing the tickets is not the sports ministers job. I do agree to the fact that, the sponsorship of Black stars trip is done by the government but its organization is done by the FA, hence the right of ticket sharing to those who must follow the team is the task that should be assigned to the FA alone.
The FA, should have had enough tickets because, it has been the norm over the years that even the playing body, is supposed to have a ticket allocation on their behalf,the sponsors and even the FA staff aught to accompany the team the same way the Government sponsor their foot soldiers as supporters for tournaments.
Nil Lamptey, disrespected the FA for given them few tickets to an extent that,the Association themselves had to buy extra tickets for their deserve people.The sports minister's dastardly act,made an unprecedented record where the FA president and his Vice had to pulled out from the trip.Though it might not be the reason why they did not go but the service of both the FA presidents are much needed at Maputo than the minister and his entourage. The life span of Nii Lamptey at the ministry is too short, because sooner than later, there is an election that could dethrone the whole of his party from office even if reshuffle or the happenings that befell his predecessors doesn't affect him, government will come and go but the FA led by Nyantakyi and G.Afriyie will continue. Nii Lamptey, should stop interfering the works of the FA because it will only affect the performance of Black stars.
Those who are deciding for him, his decisions against the FA is not attacking the personalities at that Association but the passion of the game the people of Ghana love so much.
As a former sports journalist,he should have known better,l hope he don't repeat that mistake again. Nii Lamptey should come out publicly to render an apology to the FA because what he did to them is uncalled for.
