Zanetor runs to Supreme Court for cover

Wed, 13 Apr 2016 Source: Dowuona, John

Zanetor Rawlings in her bid to contest as the NDC parliamentary candidate for Korley Klottey, despite the odds that she is not registered in the voters register, has appealed to the supreme court of Ghana. This is a tactical move to delay hearing in the case contesting her eligibility to contest as a member of parliament. She is using this as decoy to get enough time to register when the limited registration begins.

Zanetor has gone to the Supreme Court for Certiorari and Prohibition. By practice the high court will have to wait for the Supreme Court to deal with that application before the High Court can proceed on the hearing, on a very basic right to vote, and a simple question are you a registered voter in Korle Klottey? Or Zanetor please show us your voter’s identification card.

A look at the above picture brings Ghanaians to memory lane when the three high court judges were murdered in cold blood during the AFRC regime that was led by Zanetor's father, for the rule of law. Today, the same Rawlings family have appealed to the Supreme Court where the memory of this martyrs stand with a case which has been described as a test case for the rule of law and a test case of Ghana democracy, the right to vote and be voted for.

The case has attained so much interest of international dimensions and Ghanaians in the diaspora are following with much interest to see what judges will be empaneled at the Supreme Court and the decision that will be made.

It is very surprising that Zanetor has the will to continue this case even though the electoral commission has proven that she is not a registered voter and the constitution clearly states that you have to be a registered voter to contest. For the NDC party it’s a shame for their dirty linen to be washed out in public but this case has showcased how the party has moved away from its own core values of probity and accountability because at the vetting of Zanetor this issue should have been dealt with.

I also believe that if this happens to someone else Rawlings who preaches to be a saint will have by now been out describing Zanetor with names like “Baby with Sharp teeth” like he described some NDC executives in Ataa Mills’ administration.

Also it’s a shame that nobody in the NDC hierarchy has the guts to call Zanetor to order and advise her that you are committing a blunder and learn to speak the truth and stop wasting people’s time. Learn to speak the truth and it shall set you free, just tell the electorate that you told a lie “I am not a registered voter” instead of wasting people’s time and playing on the minds of Ghanaians.

Remember the people in the picture still live at the Supreme Court and will hunt your case. If Ghanaians are not forgiving people your case will not even make it to the Supreme Court an institution that your family has always been against.

Very soon you will learn that you have committed perjury, just in your bid for power through fictitious ways. Watch this video and listen to your father preach the importance of speaking the truth
