The sports minister,Nii Lamptey Vanderpuye ,must attend to hospital facility at once because he might be suffering from an episode of split personality,where some of his decisions against the GfA are taking by the other personality within his conscience.
He has started putting his witch hunting ploy into practice-looking at how every move he makes, has only the football body to his attention.
The purpose he was brought into this highly office have been deviated.President J.Mahama,should know that any bad performance from Black stars at the ongoing nations cup qualifies would make his government unpopular hence the need to call Hon.Nii Lamptey to order.
He, has started weakening all the very foundation that makes Black stars strong, and l wonder if he was truly a sports journalist.
He, has created uncomfortable atmosphere for the Black stars coach ,Avram Grant,the playing body and the management team ever since he assumed the position of the sports minister.
For paying the foreign coach cedis instead of dollers equivalent,slashing the bonuses of the squad from 10,000 to 8000 cedis and by tempering the bonuses of the Black stars management committee,are the reasons that any fair journalist should realized the man has bad intentions against the FA under his sleeves.
For cutting the management committee bonuses to help other sporting events is a blind decision any other sports minister would take.Among all the sporting disciplines in this country, which one brings more glory and success to the nation than football.The FA's vibrant output have made the football in this country attractive that, even GNPC, saw that Boxing,Athletics and any other lesser known events are there, but they chose the football to put their money in.
As a former sports journalist,Nii Lamptey, should have known better by advising the other events heads to emulate the football people in order to also get sponsors.When All Africa games took place at Maputo ,the women football team won us gold to increase our medal tally and in spite of all that,even paying their bonuses by the ministry was a problem but when president Mahama went to parliament for the state of the nation's address, had it not been the gold medal that the ladies had won at the tourney, he would have gotten nothing success to say about sports.
Nii Lamptey,should know that, if he touches the FA he is causing his own downfall as a minister, because if Black stars fails a bit, all the blame l swear would be put on him.
So far, he has killed the motivation and the happiness in the team because under his office that,we witnessed for the first time Black stars had traveled without the FA president and his vice.l foresee failure hovering around Nii Lamptey, and it would be a suicidal for he and his government if Black stars- for the first time since many years fails to qualify to any major tourney.
