When Jerry Rawlings proposed professor Mills in 1996, he DID NOT WANT his proposition to be challenged at all. In Reaction, the Radicals in the NDC formed the Reform Movement because we felt that REFORM should be more than a TEST of our beliefs, it need not mean abandoning our fundamental principles but rather a critical re-examination of them to determine whether they conform to the spirit of the NDC which we embody.
Party Activism and Constitutional Amendments should have been discussed after Rawlings’ successor has been democratically considered. The men in the NDC Party in 1996 had liberty only for their motto. In reality, they were more as slaves than anybody else would care to make them. Rawlings struck and the Reformist including this writer came up with a Guerilla strategy coupled with pragmatism while some cadres were picked and dumped into military guardrooms by Rawlings just to put the fear of the Lord in them and yet when the same Professor worked hard to become President of Ghana, Rawlings again wanted to remove him and replace him with his wife as the Presidential candidate of the NDC in 2011 at Sunyani.
When Nana Konadu lost the elections to President Mills, she rushed to form her own Political Party called the NDP. Let us Remove The Indemnity Clause From The 1992 Constitution And See whether she can ever become the President of Ghana. Imagine this, what kind of Political treachery in this? The Orators in the NDP and the NPP who made so much noise that means little should take a lesion from Nature. He often gives us LIGHTNING without THUNDER BUT NEVER THUNDER WITHOUT LIGHTNING. Is that clear – NDP AND NPP leaders.
We then amassed our political Arsenals and shook the foundations of our political landscape in 1996 with the force of a Bull dozer by forming the National Reform Party and damned the consequences.
After all, who Born Dog? The Reform Party was distinguished by a Nobler Character more generous passions, more genuine convictions and a more bold and open conduct than others. At long last Rawlings was compelled to agree that there were serious problems in the NDC Party in 1996. This was what he said: “Don’t dump the Problems of the Party (NDC) on the Reform Group ………….. Let’s face it they only took advantage of the problems in the party”
It will be recalled that Party positions were being of ALLOCATED in the homes of District Chief Executives and the homes of Ministers of state and at Party Headquarters in Accra and when the cadres realized that, we gave comrade Goosie Tanno our mentor, an ultimatum to leave the NDC and lead us in a New Party or find himself alone in the NDC. Goosie could not ignore the cadres’ ultimatum and he quit the NDC to lead the National Reform Party and the NDC lost the 1996 elections alright. It was A very Nice Defeat by the NPP. Now 24 good years after the formation of the NDC, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings allegedly amassed billions of Ghana Cedis and contested former President Mills at the Presidential Primaries in Suynani and lost – she then broke away to form her own political party – the NDP, and is now using that party to mis-inform and mislead the people of Ghana to win their support to achieve her selfish objectives because she hated the late President Mills as well as the current President. It is alleged that the Ex-gratia Awards of the cadres are being used to form her party. I advise her to Remove the Indemnity Clause From The 1992 Constitution And See whether she can become Ghana’s President she would be Heading towards the International Criminal Court (I.C.C) in Sierra Leon with her husband and former PNDC members instead of becoming Ghana’s President and then Ghana will be in Chaos if that is what she wants. On the other hand, John Dramani Mahama would be addressed as The Former President of The Republic of Ghana and Not, Repeat Not, The Former Presidential Candidate of the NDC. I am Highly Disappointed By The Behavior of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings who has joined a bunch of politicians who hate Northerners and she has also been injected with the Anti Northerner Drug.
THE MAN RAWLINGS
Former President Rawlings said that, his wife- Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings left the NDC to go and form her own party because the NDC government was engulfed in corruption and that the NDC became corrupted in the Late Prez. Mills time. Oho! I beg to disagree with Jerry, will he had made such remarks if his wife had won the Presidential Primaries at Sunyani in 2011 against Prsz Mills? No. Coming Events cast their shadows.
The way Rawlings Spoke in Nigeria means that he is NOT likely to mount a platform and campaign for the NDC again in 2016 as he did in 2012. Is it true that the NDC was corrupted in Mills time? I leave the answer to Ghanaians. After having used Cadres and dumped from 1982 to the year 2000 and beyond, have you all seen what is now happening in Ghana? Why is it so? Cadres must Rise up and Campaign for Prez John Mahama to win and WIN BIG – I mean, a ONE TOUCH VICTORY IN 2016, since Rawlings Is Now – Half NDC and Half NDP because of his wife see “Daily Guide: - Monday July 11th 2016 – Page 3 where Rawlings Endorsed Nana Akuffo Addo that he is NOT Corrupt to while Opposite is the case – How sad it is.
