Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng career hinges on his performance in the Spanish top-flight this season.

The 29-year-old secured a career-saving deal with LaLiga side Las Palmas after being released by Italian side AC Milan at the end of last season.

Boateng's career was on the wane when AC Milan decided not to renew his contract and with no chance of playing for Ghana, the options for his career are highly limited.

The midfielder, who previously had spells with Tottenham and Portsmouth in the Premier League, joined the Canary Islands club this week with the hope of keeping himself in the limelight.

However only his performances can save his career which has seen a downward trend since he was involved in the fiasco of the 2014 World Cup.

Supporters at the Estadio de Gran Canaria are delighted to see him but good performances are the only ways he can capture their love thus proving that he has not waned with his previous high profile.

"Las Palmas had been working on incorporating this player since early July," a statement on Las Palmas' official website read.

"It is certainly the most important foreign player who has joined the club in recent decades."

Boateng made only one league start during his second spell at AC Milan, having arrived on a short-term deal in January after being flogged by German side Schalke.
