Apart from the fact that,Western Region is the hub of our Oil activities, what is wrong in relocating GNPC to that Region,is it not part of Ghana? We could have done all these things long ago,by giving every Regional Capital at least one Ministry, instead putting everything in Accra. How can we develop the whole Country if everything we need is in Accra? Is time we open up,to bring governance to the door steps of the people, for every Ghanaian to be part of Nation building. Nana shouldn't leave it there, after relocating the GNPC to the Western Region,he should weigh some options, and spread the government machinery, to other Regions to relieve Accra of the human traffic. We are in the year 2017,not 1957,we are old enough to be able to handle this.

Volta region produce more teachers than any region in Ghana?. May be years back not now. With the type of your mentality, imagine if Ghana education headquarters is moved to Volta region?. Unless you are from that region, you will never be employed as a teacher in Ghana. I also believe your position is based on nothing but jealousy. I don't think you would have complain if government decides to move the petroleum headquarters to Ho. Get a life boy, the like of you are not smarter than the incoming government. Currently all the ministries is loaded with people from Volta and the Northern regions. Things must be shared equally, and stop your myopic thinking that Volta region is the head of education in Ghana.

GNPC to western region then what? This is a bogus policy. It is not the location of the head office but what goes on there. GNPC can be in Accra and serve the needs of western region if that is the direction not movement of headquaters. NPP and their class 1 policies. Another is Zongo dev. fund. Very senseless. Zongos are in regions, districts and constituencies so what ever goes to these places affect zongos. There can be a directive to do certain projects in zongos by the assemblies and not necessarily this populist fund.

We should rely a lot more on modern media communication and video conferencing for cabinet meetings. Let's get into the 21st century and decentralize while spreading the wealth of human resources around the country.

GNPC's headquarters at Takoradi makes perfect sense. The Headquarters must be located at where the action is. This ensures equitable distribution of development. Headquarters must not always be sited in the capital. Jobs must be spread out. In England some government departmental headquarters are not located in London. For example the DVLA is located at Swansea, HMRC at Newcastle etc. If jobs are spread out in Ghana, it will help to rid the capital of congestion. For me I don't see why for example Cocobod headquarters should not be based at Kumasi. GNPC headquarters at Takoradi is an excellent idea.
