Thomas Kusi Boafo
Surely, a pretentious apologist who has an irrevocable penchant for using high sounding words cannot claim perquisite to common sense and excellent pedagogical skills.
In theory, therefore, it would appear extremely oxymoronic for someone who is deficient in common sense to seek to offer such service free of charge to a resplendent fellow like Thomas Kusi-Boafo. How bizarre?
Well, normally I won’t come out of my comfort zone and confute Dauda Assibid’s pompous critique, which he rather prefers to call a benign missive, but for my long-standing passing acquaintance with the gentleman in question.
In his article captioned: ‘Free common sense for Thomas Kusi-Boafo’, which appeared on modernghana.com on 17/01/2018, Dauda Assibid disgustingly insulted Kusi-Boafo, whose only crime was to expose the officials of the erstwhile NDC government’s corrupt practices.
Dauda Assibid abhorrently writes: “Thomas Kusi Boafo, you are an auditor. You've taught me before though I learnt nothing from you but story telling. Yes, you were the kind of lecturer who was so naive and hypocritical. Very objective and biased.”
Well, what can I say here? The preceding high sounding morphemes are surely not the kind of morphological language someone who claims to possess superior powers of the mind would use to inculcate sound principles in his supposedly half-witted opponent.
By the way, how on earth would you blame Kusi-Boafo for your limited abilities in the classroom?
In any case, I am not surprised a little bit that Kusi-Boafo’s bespoke tutorials did not reek through your cranium. You are indeed not teachable.
The pugnacious Dauda again squalls: “You know audit procedures very well. It is similar when vehicles are transferred during transition period. In case you want further and better particulars of audit procedures of Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE) I will make it available to you.”
Hold your breath and hang on to your documents for now, man. Because sooner rather than later, the unwearied Martin Amidu will apprehend all the nation wreckers who have disgustingly stolen from the state.
In fact, I cannot remit my fury in condemnation when individuals like Dauda Assibid dishonestly hide behind patriotism, while revoltingly following narrow political coloration, devoid of solicitude and objectivity and would unpatriotically choose to defend all sorts of flagitious deeds against the state.
Sleazes and wanton corruption, so to speak, were so rampant in the erstwhile NDC administration following the untimely death of President Mills in July 2012.
So, it is only an unpatriotic Ghanaian who will shriek, thrill and defend the boundlessly indefensible corrupt practices.
It is, indeed, extremely painful to keep hearing some cacophonous sounds from shameful NDC faithful, many of whom only follow narrow party coloration, devoid of patriotism and solicitude.
Well, however the extreme provocation, one has to contain his/her emotional intelligence, show unconditional deference and composure, for after all, sycophancy, partisanship and lack of patriotism have been our greatest nemeses.
Given the bizarre circumstances, we can honestly and logically conclude that vague apprehension of patriotism exists in the minds of many Ghanaians like Assibid, who would squeamishly defend political interests over the national interests.
Perhaps, more than anything else, the manipulating politicians, having first-hand knowledge of their supporters servile compliance, tend to take every Ghanaian for granted and continue to dip their hands into the national purse as if tomorrow will never come.
Believe it or not, discerning Ghanaians witnessed so much scheming guiles, corruption, incompetence, nepotism, cronyism and frequent abuse of power in the erstwhile NDC government, and hence the vast majority of Ghanaians do not trust them anymore.
I must confess, though, I have never been, and will never be an NDC apple-polisher, but I will forever eulogise the late President Mills for his unparalleled adherence to moral principles.
The late President Mills had his infelicities. Yet he was morally ahead of the other corrupt and greedy NDC apparatchiks. Take, for instance, it is on record that prior to the scandalous Wayome’s judgement debt payment of GH51.2 million, the late Mills warned the ‘create, loot and share’ cabals not to effect payment.
Yet the cabals incredibly disobeyed the good old Mills orders and doled out the staggering amount to Wayome, who had no contract with the government of Ghana.
Disappointingly, though, the late President Mills somehow yielded to his appointees shenanigans and allowed the create loot and share cabals to have their way.
Upon the late Mills unfortunate capitulation, the conspiratorial plotters started dipping their hands into the national coffers through dubious judgement debt payments and other cloudy deals as if there was no tomorrow.
The racketeers even managed to allocate judgement debt amount in the national budget (reported to be around GH800 million), with a view to creating, looting and sharing.
In fact, bribery and corruption cases were so pervasive during the NDC’s eight years administration, and consequently, before his sudden demise, the late Mills exhibited unmatched rectitude and inquisitiveness when he constituted an Investigative Committee to probe into the dubious acquisition of aircrafts from Brazil.
Unfortunately, President Mills mysteriously departed from life in July 2012.
And per Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, Vice President Mahama was the next in line to take over the presidency.
On assumption of office, things started to fall apart. It went from bad to worse after the 2012 general election.
Regrettably, though, Ghana’s total debt ballooned astronomically following the unbridled spending in the 2012 general election and the numerous corruption scandals involving GYEEDA, SADA, SUBA, Bus Branding, dubious judgement debt payments amongst others.
The Progressive Nationalist Forum (PNF) for example, estimates that monies lost to corrupt and dubious transactions under the presidency of John Dramani Mahama, amounted to over GHC5billion.
