The recent attack on the NPP by the former Trade Minister Ekow Spio Gabrah describing the failure of the NPP government in handling the vigilante groups as the cause of the recent armed robbery cases is opportunistic and irresponsible. Crime has no political colour.

It is a responsibility to a matter of social crises that requires national attention and holistic solution which the NPP government is keenly tackling head-on.

But if the NDC is concerned about national security such as this then we would remind them of the crimes that occurred during their regime. Can Spio Gabrah and his NDC mention any robbery involving any member of the vigilante groups they are tagging in this menace?

Just last monday Desmond Danye, campaign manager of the NDC MP in Jirapa was gunned down by police at a robbery scene by police personnel in the Jirapa District.

This dastardly and very unghanaian act of suspected attacks and killings have considerably grown over the years from the days of the NDC.. The attack and killing of the chief of Joma in the Ablekuma district of Greater Accra in 2014, the Ecobank Abrepo Branch Manager who was shot by unknown assailant in December 2014, Chief of Atwima Koforidua shot in September 2015, and in November 2015, the DCE of Nkwanta South also attacked and shot dead..

We the NPP government despite the waves of attacks and robbery cases have demonstrated commitment in bringing the situation under control. Measures are however in place to further resource the security agencies in their fight against crime in the country.

Ghanaian citizens should continue to have immense faith in the NPP government because it is in total control.
