Samuel Ofosu Ampofo
Despite I must admit I am not satisfied with just an invitation of Elder Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a close confidant of former President John Dramani Mahama, on Thursday, 28th February, 2018 by the Ghana Police Service to assist in an investigation surrounding some comments he had made which has the tendency to overthrow the democracy of the land, and also can put the security of some personalities at risk, I will still commend them for their action taken.
Note, I am not satisfied with just an invitation because of how pompous the criminal magnitude of the issue is. Note, Kennedy Adjapong around April 2012 made a less severe comment but he was charged with treason, dragged through courts from around April 2012 until he was finally acquitted and discharged of all charges of attempted treason, genocide, and terrorism at an Accra Circuit Court around July 2013.
In cognizance of the above, this issue should therefore not be treated lightly, Elder Ampofo should be charged with the right offenses and dragged through the law court to decide his rightful fate in the eyes of the law. Aside that, since he acknowledged in the leaked tapes that he had the blessings of former President John Dramani Mahama, former President Mahama and others who evidenced their approval of the statements of Elder Ampofo through applause and statements during and after Elder Ampofo's speech should also all be included in investigations and prosecution.
