100 Golfers to vie for US Ambassador's Cup

Accra, Oct. 24, GNA - More than 100 golfers would assembly at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra to vie for this year's African-American Classic Golf Championship trophy on Saturday, October 29. Mr Masao Meroe, Secretary of the Ghana Golf Association who told the GNA Sports in Accra on Monday said the event is aimed at promoting the African-American community in Ghana as well as to promote the professional contacts between the African-Americans and their African business community.

Accra, Oct. 24, GNA - More than 100 golfers would assembly at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra to vie for this year's African-American Classic Golf Championship trophy on Saturday, October 29. Mr Masao Meroe, Secretary of the Ghana Golf Association who told the GNA Sports in Accra on Monday said the event is aimed at promoting the African-American community in Ghana as well as to promote the professional contacts between the African-Americans and their African business community.
Golfers from Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and other West African countries are expected to battle each other for the trophy donated by Ms Pamela Ethel Bridgewater, the U.S. Ambassador to Ghana. Millicom Ghana Limited, Unique Trust Financial Services, The Chiropractic and Wellness Centre, Universal Wireless Limited, Aviance Ghana and Virgin Nigeria are some of the companies sponsoring the event. As a prelude to the competition there would be a Caddies event and a youth tournament, both at the Achimota Golf Course. Ms Bridgewater is to be Special Guest of Honour.
