Accra, April 26, GNA - The Achimota Golf Club May Medal Open Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course on Tuesday, May 1. Mr Kwesi Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Club who announced this in Accra on Thursday, said more than 100 golfers from Achimota, Tema, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Clubs, are expected to participate in the one-day Medal competition.
He said the event, which would be played under the rules of the Achimota Golf Club, forms part of activities marking this year's May Day celebrations and being sponsored by Highland Spring Ghana Limited. Mr Oteng-Aboagye said some of the golfers who would take part in the competition include Bob Evans, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club, Michael Aggrey, Kwame Saarah-Mensah, Paul List and Charles Tabi all of the Achimota Club.
Five prizes would be awarded in the Men's category while three would be given in the Ladies Section. Mr Mike Ezan, President of the Club is to be the Special Guest of Honour.
