Tema, Dec. 26, GNA-This year's Afariwaah Invitational Golf Championship tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, December 30. Mr. Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the club, who announced this at Tema on Tuesday, said more than 100 golfers from the Greater Accra Region have been invited to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition. He said the competition, which shall be played under the rules of the Royal Golf Club of St. Andrews of Scotland and the local rules of the Tema Country Golf Club, has Handicap 18 and 24 as the entry requirement for the Ladies and the Men respectively.

Mr. Adablanu said, the competition, which was being sponsored by Afariwaah Farms and Estates Limited, had over the years, attracted a large entry and this year is not exceptional. He named some of the golfers who had accepted to participate in the competition as E.T. Mensah, Charles Martey, Bright Adablanu, I.N.K. Asempa and Alex Fiagomey, all of Tema Country Golf Club. Nana Owusu-Afari, Managing Director of Afariwaah Farms and Estates Limited, will present the championship trophy to the winners. Anthony Ashiagbor, Captain of the Bok Nam Kim Golf Club, will be defending the trophy he won last year. The event is the last competition of the Tema Country Golf Club for the year 2006.
