Andoh wins Barclays Invitational Golf

Accra, March 17, GNA-Francis Andoh returned a net score of 67, to win the Barclays Bank Ghana Limited Invitational Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday. Paul Supinee took the second position with 68 net, beating Mike Aggrey and Charles Tabi on count-back while Frank Adu placed fifth with 70 net. In the Ladies category, S. Postma came first with 66 net, Diana Baiden placed second with 72 net, beating Joy Arkutu on count-back while the Juniors event was won by Daniel List with 46 gross. Emos Korbal won the Professionals' section with 140 gross, Frank Asorgbah placed second with 143 gross, Stephen Klah came third with 144 gross, beating Emmanuel Osei on count-back while Victor Brave-Mensah took the fifth position with 147 gross, beating John Harvey on, count-back. More than 100 golfers took part in the day's 18-Hole stable-ford competition which was dedicated to the bank's newest products of Vehicle and Asset Finance. Mrs Margaret Mwanakatwe, Managing Director of the bank said the idea to use this year's anniversary tournament was to test the individual abilities to see how much value "we can add to stronger future teams that will be better placed, to deliver the excellence that will show Africa the way to the promise land." On ,behalf of the bank, Mrs Mwanakatwe presented a cheque for 30 million cedis to the Achimota Golf Club. 17 March 07
