Tema, Feb. 22, GNA - Samuel K. Ayornu returned a net score of 68 to win this year's Tema Country Golf Club President's Putter Open Championship at Tema on Saturday. The event, which attracted a field of 100 golfers saw Joseph Dagadu beating Ernest Opoku, Francis Torgah and John Wattenberg on count-back after they all returned 69 net score to take the second position. E. O. Donkor also defeated Morgan Eshun on count-back after they had both returned a 69 net score to win the Group 'B' category. In the Ladies segment, Young Ha Kim came first with 69 net followed by Jessica Tei with 70 net while Margaret Owusu-Baah placed third with 72 net.

The Professionals category was won by Victor Brave-Mensah with 67 gross, Vincent Torgah placed second with 68 gross with the third position going to Eric Henaku with 69 gross while Melvin Komash took the fourth position with 70 gross. The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition, which was open to golfers throughout the country, was sponsored by Mr Do Jo Kofi Yim, President of the Tema Country Golf Club. Mr William Asiedu Yeboah, out-going Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club commended Mr Yim for his immense contribution to the development of Club since he assumed the presidency a year ago. He appealed to the members to continue to offer the president the necessary support to enable him discharge his duties.
