Tema, July 30, GNA-Kwabena Boakye returned a net score of 69, to win Tema Country Golf Club July Medal Championship played at Tema on Saturday.
The second position was taken by Ebenezer Mensah with a net score of 73 after beating Besterman Jorge on count-back. Elizabeth Aku Yaaba won the Ladies event with 71 net while Florence Etwi-Barimah came second with 73 net.
In the Professional's category, Victor Brave-Mensah came first with 70 gross, Baba Akologo came second with 73 gross, while Eric Kwesi Henaku took the third position with 74 gross. The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition opened to amateur and professional golfers from Achimota, Tema, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs, attracted about 100 golfers.
It was sponsored by Tema Country Golf Club. Golfers use the monthly Medal competitions to sharpen their strokes for major competitions. The next major competition is the Tema Tigo Open, scheduled for August 12 to 13.
