Tema, April 10, GNA- The 15th annual Bok Nam Kim Memorial Open Golf Championship takes off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, April 17.
Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the club, who announced this at Tema on Saturday, said the one-day 18-Hole Stableford competition which is open to amateur golfers throughout the country, is in memory of the late Mr Bok Nam Kim, former Chief Executive Officer of Afko Group of Companies who single-handedly sponsored the Ghana contingent to the 1988 Olympic Games in Seuol, Korea.
Mr Kim, a golfer and a keen sports enthusiast died in 1989. Mr Adablanu said more than 150 golfers are expected to participate in the event, which is being sponsored by Afko Group of Companies. He said the entry requirement for the Men's event is Handicap 18 while that of the Ladies is pegged at Handicap 27.
B.G. Lee and Mona Captan of the Achimota Golf Club, will be defending the trophies they won last year.
Mrs Young Oh Kim, President of the Tema Golf Club and the Chief Executive of Afko Group, would present the magnificent trophies to winners.
