Barry Dzadey returned a net score of 70 to win this year’s CAL Bank Limited Open Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday.
John Gedze, whose hard work earned him 71 net, took the second position while Geoff Coffie placed third with 72 net, beating Odoi Sowah on count-back.
In the Ladies segment, Christine Fuler came first with 72 net, beating Raheda Khalil and Beatrice Vetsch-Bempong on count-back.
In the Men’s Group ‘B’’ encounter, Samuel Boateng came first with 69 net, Beningo Mimis took the second position with 70 net while Obeng Appiah placed third with 71 net.
The Ladies event saw Niine Sarpong emerging champion with 66 net, Vastie Tay took the second position with 69 net while Hellen Appah placed third with 74 net.
The one-day 18-Hole event, which was opened to golfers throughout the country, attracted over 120 participants.
Mark Coffie Junior, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club, commended the bank for their sponsorship and called on other corporate bodies to help develop the sport.
Dr Frank Adu Junior, Managing Director of the bank, gave the assurance that the bank would continue to support the development and the promotion of the sport in the country.
