ECOBANK Chairman’s Seniors’ Golf Championship Postponed.

The much-touted Ecobank Chairman’s Seniors’ Golf Championship has been postponed at a last minute notice. The event was planned to come off this Saturday, February 25 at the premier Achimota Golf Club. Sources at the premier Achimota Golf Club indicated that, issues beyond the control of management and sponsors accounted for the sudden postponement.

The source also revealed that, the event is likely to come off in May, but could not confirm a date.

Previouly named the J.S Addo Seniors’ Golf Championship, the one-day stableford competition is characterized with attractive giveaways to winners on such events.

The event was expected to draw together 120 golfers. Men with handicap 18 or below as well as Ladies with handicap 27 or below are qualified to play in the competition after an entrance fee of Twenty Ghana Cedis (GHC20.00) is duly paid. The Championship is open to amateur golfers from Achimota Golf Club, Bok Nam Kim, Tema Country Golf Club and invited guests of Ecobank.

As a norm on matchplay day of the Ecobank Championship, play will be divided into three groups with golfers 55 years and above in one category in the main event, where prizes will be awarded for top five men and the first four Ladies.

The Associate group is that of the 45 to 54 category. Prizes in this category are given to 1st to 4th top Men as well as 1st to 3rd Ladies.

Making up the final competition groups is the special group who will play only nine Holes with prizes at stake going out to winners in both men and Ladies in the top two.
