Teye Lartey Gberbie returned a net score of 68 to win the October edition of the Access Bank Monthly Medal Open Golf Championship played at the Tema Country Golf Course at the weekend.
He was followed by Godwin Asem with 69 net who defeated Samuel K. Afari on count-back, after they had both returned the same score.
In the Group ‘B’ segment reserved for Handicap 15-28 golfers, Japheth Achola came first with 70 net, while Felix Owusu-Adjapong took the second position with 72 net, beating E. Appiah Korang on count-back.
Esther Antwi defeated Mercy Werner on count-back to win the Ladies encounter, after they had both returned 77 net score.
Vincent Torgah won the Professional’s category with 70 gross, Baba Akologo took the second position with 72 gross, while Emmanuel Osei placed third with 74 gross.
The day-long 18-Hole Medal Play attracted about 100 amateur and professional golfers throughout the country.
Mr Dolapo Ogundimu, Managing Director of Access Bank Ghana Limited, who presented the trophies to the winners, pledged the bank’s commitment to support the development of the sport.
