Ghana beat Nigeria in Golf

Accra, March 4, GNA - Achimota Golf Club of Ghana defeated Ibrahim Badamosie Babangida (IBB) Golf Club of Abuja of Nigeria by 35 points to 26 to win the international Match Play Championship between the two sides at Achimota in Accra on Sunday.

Led by captain, Bob Evans, the Ghanaian team who led the competition 13-7 in the First Day, continued their dominance over the visitors and scored 22 more points as against 19 on the Second Day Captain Evans told the GNA Sports that the event was aimed at strenghtening the already existing cordial relationship between the two countries and the clubs.

He said the Achimota Golf Club was optimistic of winning the competition at any time that the event was hosted in Ghana. The second encounter would be played in Nigeria in September this year.
