Hundred golfers to compete for Coca Cola Medal Cup

Accra, July 21, GNA - About 100 amateur golfers would parade at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema to compete for the July edition of the Coca Cola Monthly Medal Open Golf Championship on Sunday, August 1.

Mr Oswald Amuzu, Competition Secretary of the Celebrity Gold Club who announced this at Tema on Tuesday, said the one-day event which was being sponsored by the Coca Cola Bottling Company of Ghana limited was opened to golfers throughout the country.

He said the competition, which is in its seventh month, continues to generate interest month after month and that next month's event would not be exceptional.

Abdu Aziz-Amankwa, Akwasi Opoku, Joe Ampofo, Ashish Gajjar, Pierre Coussey and Theophilus Asanpong, all of the club, are expected to battle for the trophy.

Vivienne Avornyotse, Cherry Hammond and July Zee would also compete for honours in the ladies segment.
