International Golf championship between Ghana and Nigeria postponed

Accra, June 8, GNA - The International Golf Championship between the Achimoa Golf Club of Ghana and Benin State of Nigeria scheduled for the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, June 13, has been postponed.

Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Club who disclosed this to GNA Sports in Accra on Monday, said the postponement was due to the inability of the visitors to make the trip. He said a new date would be fixed for the two-day Match-Play which was expected to strengthten the already existing cordial relationship between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the June Medal Championship of the Achimota Golf Club would be played on Saturday, June 20. The event, which would be sponsored by U.T. Bank, is expected to attract about 120 golfers.
