Female golfing sensation, Jessica Bearls Tei who placed third at last month's West and Central African Challenge Trophy tournament held in Cameroon, has set her sights on emulating golfing legend, Tiger Woods.

The 23-year-old became a professional after winning the Cowbell National Caddies tournament for the third time in 2011 - a feat which entitled her to a lucrative sponsorship deal with Cowbell Ghana Limited.

On the back of the Cowbell sponsorship which covers her kitting, golfing equipment, accommodation, feeding and subscription fees, Jessica has already claimed over 30 honours including titles at the 2012 MTN Asantehene Ladies scratch and 17th Tafo Golf Open.

However, Jessica, a Most Improved Female Golfer nominee at the 2014 Ghana Golf Awards insists that she needs to develop the consistency of former world number-one, Woods in order to achieve her dreams of dominating the sport in future.

"He is not as dominant as he used to be, but every golfer including myself wants to do what he did by dominating golf for over a decade,* Jessica told the Graphic Sports.

"Golf has always been fun for me especially when I was a caddy, but I never thought I could be a pro till the Cowbell Caddies contest changed the course of my life," she added.

Jessica who is a registered member of the Achimota Golf Club insists that without the her sponsorship deal it would have been impossible to compete in most events because of the cost involved.

He said, "The world over, it is difficult for female golfers to attract corporate sponsors, this translates to fewer women competing at the highest level.

"I consider myself as very lucky in that regard and I try to repay the faith of Cowbell any-time I step on a golf course to compete."
