Lipton Medal Open Golf scheduled for June 27

Tema, June 22, GNA - The maiden Lipton Medal Open Golf Championship tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, June 27. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, General Manager of the Tema Country Golf Club, who disclosed this at Tema on Monday, said the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition which would be open to amateur golfers in the Greater Accra Region, is being sponsored by Unilever Ghana Limited. He said about 120 golfers are expected to participate in the competition, which would be played once every two months. Mr Adablanu said the entry requirements for the competition which would be played in accordance with the rules of the Ghana Golf Association has Handicap 18 and 24 for the Men and the Ladies categories.

Kweku Okyere, Captain of Tema Country Golf Club would lead his team which would include Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Alex Fiagome, William Asiedu Yeboah, Paul Owusu-Baah, Nana Antwi-Boasiako and I.N.K. Asempah The Achimota Golf Club team is likely to feature a crack team to be led by their Captain, Mike Aggrey and would include Matthias Dorfe, Charles Tabi, Mike Ben-George, Robert Evans and Yaw Assah-Sam. Officials of Unilever Ghana Limited are expected to grace the occasion.
