Rwanda’s national carrier RwandAir has partnered the second edition of the South African Freedom Day golf tournament, offering free tickets to the ultimate winners.

Organized by Global Media Alliance and the Celebrity Golf Club in collaboration with the South African High Commission in Ghana, the tournament will take place on 25th April, 2015 at the Celebrity Golf Course in Sakumono, Tema.

This year’s event themed “Africa Unite, Say No To Xenophobia”, will be used to foster embody the unity and peace that has existed between the two countries over the years despite the recent reported xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa.

The event will feature golfers from Ghana and South Africa battling for category prizes as guests sit back, relax and celebrate the rich heritage of the game with South African music.

According to the Sales and Marketing Manager of RwandAir, Ignatius Ahimbisibwe, the airline will be giving out free Accra-Johannesburg-Accra flight tickets to winners in the Male and Female categories.

“Rwanda and South Africa have a very rich culture in common so it’s no surprise that we are part of this golf tournament. We are very excited about this and the airline is giving away four free tickets to golfers who excel during the event,” Mr Ahimbisibwe said.

This is the second edition of the South African Freedom Day Golf event and it promises to be a memorable one. Special Guest of Honour is the South African High Commissioner to Ghana Her Excellency Lulama Xingwana.

Aside promoting excellence in golf, the event will also serve as a networking platform for all involved. The event is supported by Diamond Cement, Shoprite, Distell Company, MultiChoice Ghana, RwandAir, Voltic and Glass Vision.
