Tema, Aug. 2, GNA - This year's Tema Mobitel Open Golf Championship would tee off at the Tema Country Golf Course from Saturday to Sunday, August 27 and August 28.
Mr Ebenezer Adablan, Chief Executive Officer of the Tema Country Golf Club who announced this at Tema on Tuesday, said the two-day 36 Hole Scratch event is open to both amateur and professional golfers throughout the country and is being sponsored by Millicom Ghana Limited. He said more than 150 golfers are expected to participate in the competition which shall as usual be played under the rules of the World's
Golf governing body and the local rules of the Tema Country Golf Club. Mr Yaw Osafo Maafo, Minister of Education and Sports is to be the Special Guest of Honour.
Meanwhile, Nana Owusu-Afari returned 67 net to win the Tema Country Golf Club July Medal competition played at Tema on Sunday. Alex Fiagomey came second with 70 net, while E.T. Mensah placed third with 73 net beating William Yeboah on count-back. Valentine Mateaw won the Ladies event with 70 net while Joy Arkutu came second with 73 net when she beat Esther Bhavnani on count-back.
