Tema, July 29, GNA - Tema Country Golf Club defeated Celebrity Golf Club 12-7 in their first Inter-Club Golf Championship played at Tema on Saturday.
The Tema Club led by their captain, William Asiedu Yeboah, including seasoned golfers such as the past captain, Alex Fiagomery, dominated the game and above their opponents with the points coming from Kofi Boakye, Nana Antwi-Boasiako, Florence Etwi-Barimah, David Hampton, William Yeboah, Park Jin Ha and Kweku Okyere. Others on target were Essie Cobbina, Tony Etsey, H.S. Choi, S.H. Joe, Margaret Owusu Baah and T.Y. Lee.
Celebrity, captained by Joe Ohemeng also scored their points through Alon Cho, Joe Ampofo, Tang Hon, Kusi Boateng, Clara Price, Sunday Ibrahim and Ayikwei Armah.
Mr Kobina Quansah, President of the Celebrity Golf Club, presented the ultimate trophy to captain of the Tema Club, William Yeboah and gave the assurance that would do everything to ensure that Celebrity become champions in the next encounter. Mr Yeboah said the Tema Country Golf Club has initiated plans to orgnaise similar encounters with other golf clubs to not only improve on their strokes but to also strengthen the already existing cordial relationship among the golf clubs.
