TV3 to sponsor Tema Medal golf

Accra, July 8, GNA--This month's Tema Monthly Medal Golf Championship scheduled for Tema on July 19, would be sponsored by TV3 Network.
Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the Club, who announced this in Accra on Tuesday, said about 120 amateur golfers from Tema, Achimota, Sakumono Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim golf clubs are expected to vie for the championship trophy. He said the event which has hitherto been sponsored by Crocodile Matchets Ghana Limited, had registered a large entry this month due to the attractive prizes at stake.

Golfers expected to be in action would include Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, John Cobbina, immediate past captain of the Tema Club, E.K. Henaku, Yaw Assah-Sam, Bashiru Sakibu and John Sam.
Meanwhile J.S. Son and Elizabeth Essel Koomson, Ghana's representatives in the World International Peugeuot Challenge Golf Championships have started serious training at Tema for the event scheduled for September this year.
Son said he is optimistic to win the trophy for Ghana for the first time.
Kweku Okyere who represented Ghana in the year 2001 edition, placed ninth while Kamal Noshie took the 19th position in the last year's competition.
